I am sorry, I reviewed the post you quoted, but unintetinally, probably deleated it since it disapeared. Thank goodness that you quoted it, so it remains on board (in tiny fonts - but is there!!!) "I heard more Israelis died using their hairdryer in 8 years . " You have no idea what it is to live under such threat. so just belt up. See that was a silly mistake mistake to make , to presume I don't know what it is like . I gave up my long service leave to volunteer with the Red Cross in Nur Shams refugee camp in Nablus a few years ago . I probably know more than any armchair critic excatly what it is like to live under threat . Dont patronise me

Basically I think Israel made the overtures VHW Describing as an 'overture' the redeployment of soldiers and settlers from inside Gaza to cut costs while intensifying the colonisation of Palestine is simply a repetition of Israeli propaganda.

Yeah yeah maybe. It strikes me as more of an effort than Hamas (who broke the last ceasefire within hours, if I may remind you) have made. I really am bored now.
That I've got the likes of Limeylilly and PK accusing me of wanting to drive the Jews into the sea on the one hand, and you and Warofwords here hinting that I'm some kind of Palestinian hater/Israeli propaganda machine on the other, strikes me as hilarious. Don't suppose it would ever occur to any of you that I might actually be impartial, just because I'm not buying your propaganda wholesale doesn't mean I'm buying into the other side's.
Bollox to it. I've changed my mind about the EU funding to stop the weapons smuggling. Let's give both sides a big bunch of powerful weaponry and let them wipe each other out ASAP because I don't think I can stomach another day of these shït discussions.

It's just that the Israel/US viewpoint gets far more coverage in the media (in English. I suppose it's the other way round in the Arabic media). I don't just mean specifically about Israel/Palestine but in all the rhetoric of the 'war on terror', 'western values' 'Muslims' and the like, so even generally fair-minded people like yourself can develop a biased understanding of some aspects of the subject.

Well, that's the 17th rocket today but we'd better not do anything to protect our civilians because we've got a bigger army and more hi-tech stuff." It may surprise you to learn that Israel also has innocent civilians among its population, and they too deserve to live without fear of attack.
Maybe so Vike, but as one old Palestinian gentleman (who had recently been bereaved courtesy of the Israeli Air Force) said recently, the UK had thirty years of IRA bombings, shootings and missile attacks, but did they send F16s to bomb Belfast?

The Irish can be reasoned with, you're under the delusion that psychopathic jihadis ready to kill and die in the name of Allah can be reasoned with as well. Here's a reality check for you. You can't reason with the irrational bug eyed Islamic fascist lunatics, one would figure that'd be obvious to anybody that's been paying attention to the events of the past few years.

Well first off, I do agree that Israel's response is unforgiveably heavy-handed.
That said, I think the comparison between Gaza and bombing Belfast is, frankly, very silly. Not least because a lot of the IRA were from the Republic. Nor were there rockets being launched from Belfast so there would be no strategic point of bombing it.
"It's just that the Israel/US viewpoint gets far more coverage in the media"
Really? Have to say most of the media I have read (including that in Sweden) has been very very critical of Israel's latest sally into Gaza. Along with the UN and pretty much every government leader I can think of with the exception of Angela Merkel. I don't think disagreeing with your interpretation of the situation necessarily means I am brainwashed.

Really? Plenty of mortars and home-made missiles were used in NI and many were hidden there and in the RoI. The RAF weren't used against either.

Well I just mean you'd have had to flatten the entire island, not just Belfast.
Also, and I can't believe I am about to type this, NYer has a point. The IRA wanted the British out of NI, not to destroy the nation of Britain.

The IRA wanted the British out of NI, not to destroy the nation of Britain. The Change and Reform Party (the political wing of Hamas) was elected on an anti-corruption platform by an electorate which had got tired of Fatah. Unfortunately, Israel rejected the opportuntiy for political dialogue and immediately set about destroying democracy in the territories through sanctions and then through outright violence by supporting the Fatah security forces in a putsch. In the latest attack on Gaza, Israel is completing the job that Fatah failed to do.

And ofcourse you havent a bigoted bone against jews and Israelis in have you My views are shared by Israeli Jews who are not afflicted with the same inhumane racism that you are. He has criticized Israel's government for refusing to stop the construction of settlements on private Palestinian land, describing the policy as 'the most criminal enterprise in [Israel's] history'.[4] He decries an attitude which reflects, he believes, Israel's systematic dehumanization of its neighbors. During the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict, he shared the minority view among Israeli commentators which dismissed the idea that it was a 'just war', of the kind in which civilian casualties were both inevitable and acceptable. He is for the unilateral return of the Occupied Palestinian Territories without asking for concessions.
