La Vida es un Carnival - Celia Cruz.
There you go Mids, you wanted me to post something on this thread, so I have.
I remembered how much I loved that song from my uni days and had it on constant rewind on my MP3 this morning.

Everybody knows Celia Cruz, surely. I mean everybody? Or at the very least they have heard La Vida es un Carnaval...?
Peasant.
How about Shakira - Donde estan los (or is it 'las' I forget) ladrones? With the fabtastic 'Ojos Asi'?

I've heard of Shakira, yes. Mind you, being working class I don't tend to witter on about the latest 'marvellously vibrant - so free of the strictures of Western music' big thing in 'World music'...

Anyway, I have a wonderfully vibrant collection of CDs, containing many artists who have darker skin than me.

Ming,
How about chav?

Yeah chav sits well on Mids. I suspect the reason he is so anti labour is because he's got a drawful of asbos and they want to tax diamond white.
Could I just say I have a rather splendid pair of burberry checked trousers.

I use to have (and wear) a large amount of gold Elizabeth Duke jewellery. Argos sourced, obviously. No idea what to do with it now. Sits in an old jewellery box somewhere and I dooubt I'd get much for it.
