I've never heard of her and I've never been to Glastonbury, so I was wondering how these things get decided. From what little I know of both, she seemed an odd choice. Almost a wildcard.

I'm not sure SZA's the wrong artist to headline Glastonbury. It has long been a mix of dad-rock heritage acts, a lot of modern landfill indie that almost nobody has ever heard of, and one or two mainstream pop acts who've been around long enough to create a headline set but who are popular with the kids - partly to get young people watching and partly to get headlines about "why is X playing Glastonbury", whether X is Robbie Williams or SZA or Beyonce or Kanye or whoever
