Well, anyway, she died, has been buried, yesterday. And I went this morning to take some photographs of all the flowers and tributes etc etc etc, with my sister. But, apparently the rabbits ate everything other than the roses! Rabbits don't like roses, I thought they liked Lettuce. But it seems they like Crythansiums. The rabbits ate till their bellies were full! I swear to god if I had a shot gun.

So sorry to hear about your mum Pinx. It must have been a difficult time for you and your sister. I can understand how furious you must have been when you found most of the flowers had gone before you had even had time to take some photos. I suppose rabbits will eat just about anything that has roots ... nice of them to have left you some roses though.

Thanx Cathy, yeah it was a sad time, twas quite funny though when we got there the next day and saw everything was gone. Well wasn't funny, till I saw the funny side of it! I nearly accosted the gardener (lol) he was chugging up in his tractor on the pathway, and I just saw red! I really thought some sad so and so had knicked them, I don't normally walk over graves! But I just stomped my way over to him and demanded he stopped, he must have thought I was quite nuts. I said to him, 'Do you know what's happened, how flippin dare they' and then went on to explain, and then suddenly he had a spark and twinkle in his eyes and just nodded, 'that'll be the rabbits then'. I said, 'I beg your pardon'. He said, 'First thing in the morning Marm at about six, there's thousands of em, eating everything in site!'. So I said, 'Well thank GOD for that!'. 'My mum would have loved that', she'd be saying, 'Come on you guys, hurry up quick, eat as much as you can before you get caught'.

Yep, if she was anything like my mum she would have looked down and laughed at their cheek.
Maybe when I die I will leave a request for my family to put cabbage leaves and carrots on my grave in the hope the rabbits would eat those instead of of the flowers! Not that I'd mind if they did though.

The day after my mother's funeral I went back to take some photos of the flowers, there were so many bouquets & wreaths piled up - dozens - half of them were hidden, so I decided to take a load of them off to place on my little nephews gravesite (about 10 miles away) I'd just finished putting them in the boot & rearranging the others when a groundsman / gardener came over & asked "Can I help you?" I said that was very nice of him but I had all I was going to take thank you ..... he looked a bit nonplussed...... so I explained & it was ok He said in the past they'd had people going & stealing flowers! and one woman was a FLORIST!! - what a stinking trick no wonder he'd looked so concerned sorry to hear about your mum pinx

<Has idea for setting up a florists near an accident blackspot>
You could pick 'em up, rearrange them, and sell them straight back!
