I have been giving blood since about 1985. f**k me. 38 years? I think it takes normal people only a few minutes. You should probably have a different nurse come in and see if they can find a better vein.

Couldn't give blood here for ages cos, same as the US Auz and most other places, they saw British blood as tainted, they changed that a couple years back. Yep I believe Australia rolled their rules back last year. I think the USA still has the ban in place or did last time the topic came up when discussing with a Yank friend (admittedly a while ago.) I think we’re allowed to now in the US. But it was a pain to donate in Massachusetts which seemed to have weird hours and schedules for clinics. Now I’m usually in civilisation I’m going to see if I can donate my pure elixir of youth to people who’re desperate for it.

Are we still talking about the monarchy here? Dunno. Do they give blood? Has somebody got the Queen's lungs?

I bet the Queen's lungs would do well on eBay.

I used to drink in The Queens Lungs. Lovely little pub.

Well I think you're all hilarious, but that's always the case after a bottle of port.

Fun fact - I have never tried Port in my life. Is it like sweet red wine?

Well he had to edit the post to tell everyone he was joking, but yeah it needs work. In fairness it would have been marginally gigglesome (a slight titter) if “ethnic minority and mixed heritage” was a synonym for “Jamaican”. As it’s not it fails badly.

Port's great. A bit too great. It's easy to sit and knock it back.

Porto is also great, which means you can have a doubly great long weekend.

Agreed. It also has one of the greatest bridges in the world, the Dom Luís I Bridge which, rather spookily, is a doubly great bridge.

It's terribly dangerous for pedestrians though.
