Airports closed, cities under curfew and state television presenters being made to read out statements from the military.
That's what I've read so far. Sounds serious, but who knows what exaggeration there may be.

Lots of talk this is responce to Erdoğan becoming more autocratic and more islamist, the army are staunch to the ideas of Attaturk and secularism.

Seeing as the Army has always been more secular - it looks more that way.
Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I've been trying to follow this on the BBC news - but they are just showing the same bit of video with people who haven't got a clue talking about the fact that they haven't got a clue. I think I'll just wait till morning for when a clearer picture emerges.
