I have to say that my confidence was a little off after India were only two down yesterday. Had to remind myself that their middle order has been pretty crap and they're playing 3 number 11s. Today showed that to be the case.

When they make me chairman of selectors, I am going to ban the use of nightwatchmen. The concept makes me so angry.

So, cricket as a whole doesn't seem to be coming out too well after yesterday's hearing at the DCMS. Yorkshire CCC seems to have just let racism run wild and nobody cared to the extent that it appears that nobody even really noticed except for the non-white people. It's not clear how the county gets past this - they need to basically sack the entire board, the entire coaching staff, and half the team. Apart from Rafiq, the person I feel most sorry for at Yorkshire is Joe Root who seems to have been a kid when this happened and therefore in no position to really say anything, yet people are now asking why he didn't say anything. He seems to be a decent bloke though, actively calling out homophobia on the pitch.
But it's not just Yorkshire. The ECB seem complicit in this - their responses yesterday were rubbish, and the question remains why you'd let a county that's accused of racism conduct their own inquiry into racism that says "Yeah, it wasn't really a thing, just dressing room banter, here's Gary Ballance to throw under the bus, let us get on with it." Michael Vaughan seems thoroughly rotten. Unsurprisingly so is David Lloyd. And now it looks like there's some very similar stuff going on in Essex.
When 40% of junior cricketers in the country are of Asian descent you have to wonder why so few ever made it through to the first class game. Even knowing the chummy old boys nature of getting the kids from posh schools into the counties, the numbers wouldn't be so low unless there were some other barriers...

Now let me see a cricket player from Pakistan is called r a c I s t names in Yorkshire and its wall to wall media coverage, including running a televised parliamentary Committee. Fine , but hundreds of vulnerable kids are openly groomed by men from Pakistan in Yorkshire over many years and there is a media blackout, nobody is fired amongst police social workers or politicians who all knew about it & a home office report is shelved while any mention or action is tagged as racist. No contradictions there then …?

Hooo! Boy. "Media blackout" means something different to me than it does to you. But also, look at that squirrel!
Diane Abbott might sound stupid, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST? HUH? HUH?

Still top marks for shoehorning your obsession into yet another totally unrelated subject.

Quite a few white football coaches too. In fact it seems endemic. What do you think of that?
Good smokescreen for Doris though, this Yorkshire stuff.

Surrey seem to have a less bad track record with non-white British players than many other counties. They may end up being the only county not named-and-shamed.
The Kevin thing is a bit weird. It's a new bit of racism to me - and a quick google search doesn't seem to help much on its provenance. But if everyone in the changing room knows that it's a racist term then it's still racist.

Haha … is that why there are so few players of colour or foreigners playing in the football league or international team…🤔

I think he's referring to the kids being groomed side of it. Although there is racism too, of course, particularly against Asian players (how few British players of Asian origin have played international football for England or are even playing in the First Division right now?).
