Haha. The BBC's PR team are working double overtime. There was a hilarious double-header on the radio yesterday where two goons acted out a clearly scripted chat about the whole Huw Edwards scandal. It was teeth-grindingly self-serving. And now this: "The man who was once the most trusted and most recognisable face of BBC journalism has pleaded guilty over images that show child sexual abuse - and the BBC has serious questions to answer. The director general faces some stark and uncomfortable truths." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cw4yr3xyv8loWhat's interesting is that it deliberately misses a couple of more interesting and damaging points: why he was paid so much in the first place and why he was given a 10% pay rise while he was suspended.

It's been a textbook example of cynical PR at the BBC: they've made a big deal of asking themselves hard questions about Huw Edward. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cw0y0g58xpjoThey're not asking the questions that actually matter though.

Interesting. Labour having to hold the BBc to account after the Tories handled it with kid gloves while it was being their pliant mouthpiece

"The BBC has begun to remove Huw Edwards from some of its archive footage after the former broadcaster pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children. It is starting with family and entertainment content on iPlayer, according to the Observer, external who first reported on the move. Until last year, Edwards was one of the main presenters on BBC One's News at Ten and often fronted coverage of major national events. “As you would expect we are actively considering the availability of our archive," a BBC spokesperson said. "While we don't routinely delete content from the BBC archive as it is a matter of historical record, we do consider the continued use and re-use of material on a case-by-case basis.” Edwards resigned from the BBC in April citing medical advice. On Wednesday, he admitted having 41 indecent images of children, which had been sent to him by another man on WhatsApp. The Observer claimed that the removal of certain content was aimed at "protecting audiences from repeats of Edwards' most visible work in news and on state occasions", including the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. A Doctor Who episode featuring Edwards' voice has already been removed from iPlayer." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0w44nz6nneoGood grief, this is performative nonsense. A corporate guilty conscience in action.

What utter nonsense. But people are desperately precious about the monarchy. And I suppose Huw Edwards saying something fawning about Prince Andrew might look a little… um…

The BBC need to own it. Then close themselves down.

I expect there will be rather a lot of deletion of video content going on at the BBC. And the Guardian.

But seriously what is your problem with the article?

And what is going on with young males?
“ Avon and Somerset Police is clear the growing problem is among young men aged 14 to 19, but some boys are picking up weapons much younger”
It’s like they are all slowly going mad.
Actually scratch that: what’s going wrong on with parenting?
“ She’s on the lookout for a 10-year-old boy - reportedly with a knife - exposing himself to women and committing indecent assaults. He was eventually arrested and has been released, still under investigation.”
