How is that not extortion?
GOP: The gubberment should keep their hands off the private sector (unless we're paid to do otherwise). They're going to get trounced in the mid-terms.
And Trump is now saying people's guns should be taken away without due process. We heard deafening squeals from the right about Obama taking everyone's guns when he pushed for sane gun control laws. Trump spouts this and it's crickets.
How do you defend that one, jimbo?

Nor should there be discounted airfares for NRA members.

Delta is a private company, they have the right to discount prices to anyone they wish, just like people have the right to choose which airline, if any they wish to fly with, even if they happen to be members of the NRA,
I think it is always a bad idea for any company to go political, Delta airlines should be in the business of selling tickets to both NRA members and the Brady members, declaring war on the NRA while being based in Georgia might not be a good idea

Did they declare war on the NRA?

They didn't announce that they were ending special discounts, they announced that they were ending discounts NRA members, I suspect NRA members will take that as war on the NRA, Thought they were in the airline business, not the political business, will likely prove to be a bad idea

I know that Jim. Perhaps Delta can now grant discounts to other special interest groups instead of the NRA. Their choice and they must have a budget for discounting airfares to special interests group so now they've freed up some money from that budget perhaps they can offer discounted fares to other groups instead of the NRA.

I have no issue with firms not getting special tax exemptions. I do have an issue when it’s done to punish them for refusing to support the gun lobby.

There's an interesting argument that the state of Georgia is restricting the free speech rights of Delta Airlines, changing its laws because of the positions held by Delta Airlines. As we have been told that corporations are people, with free speech rights (per Citizens United), it looks like the Georgia legislature is being utterly unconstitutional.

"declaring war on the NRA", lmfao
Kids get shot up in schools on a regular basis: not such a big deal, here are some thoughts and prayers and we'll thank you to shut up about it. Discount taken away from NRA members by a business: scream, stamp feet, cry, "YOU'VE JUST DECLARED WAR ON US!"
You really can't make up the level of insanity among the right wingnuts over here these days.

DECLARING WAR! Only 13 people ever used that NRA discount at DeltaFewer people are going to be disadvantaged by this than were killed in Parkland. But no, the NRA is now "going to war", and getting the Georgia legislature to act as their attack dogs, over a small discount.

its not the discount so much as the defiance shown by Delta to dear speak out against the NRA.

The NRA is a sham. They don't even let people see their membership roles, plenty of people have noticed they were made members without their knowledge and to get taken off you supposedly have to request it in writing. That's how they get their "we support 5 million Americans" bullshit.
On top of that, they enjoy non-profit, tax exempt status, get this, for being a social welfare organization.
What were you saying about a special tax exemptions, jimbo?

The gun nuts are going to boycott businesses that dropped NRA discounts by going to businesses that never offered them to begin with.
