I rather liked Price Tag. The reason I chose this thread (although it could have gone on the BBC) is because this is another example of someone having a very comfortable life/background, and still trying to crack on that everything has been a struggle. These diagnoses are very self-serving and are more and more common, the richer and smugger the family is. It also comes across as a sort of humble brag: "look at me, I'm so fabulous and brave and successful despite all these terrible problems. Just think how much more brilliant I would have been if I hadn't been handicapped by x, y and z."
It's very drama school, but you can also see examples in other pampered posers e.g. Richard Branson, who is an odious twit.

Another string to the musical bow (there are two of us). Forces me out of the in a band with 4 others comfort zone. We busked right next to a Palestinian protest today. There were about 7 or 8 of them, all old white people except one younger Muzz. I except he's in Hamas and drew the short straw of being sent to Saffron Walden instead of Tower Hamlets or some Banlieue. Anyway, they were perfectly pleasant and didn't shout or say very much at all. We moved after 40 minutes or so- signs with genocide and child killers were killing the vibe a bit. There was also a small Uke protest on the other side of the square. They at least had some chicks. |

We had a bucket today and also a QR code that allows people to pay with Google or Apple. I messed up linking to my bank account (you have to do via a third party) so got nowt from that. About 16 quid in cash. It's only the second time we've done it so not too bothered about making money yet. If we end up making a bit of pocket money then fine. We have had a couple of requests to do gigs which is another reason for doing it.

I was in the barber's chair the other day, getting a trim and facial massage from my young Moroccan friend, when two distinctly sketchy Herberts came in and claimed Mo had made an appointment to have a card ready installed. They really didn't look legit and Mo gave them short shrift.
