I was only looking for reasonable comparators. It looks like the French pay less. Have more, but pay less.

I’ve heard nurses get paid quite a bit more in Oz too. Although how much nurses get in other countries is utterly irrelevant as to how much they should ask for in the UK. Another Bearman strawman. Why's that then? Second time of asking. Entirely different countries, different social structures, different cost of living etc. I mean for somebody who alleges to be a worldly man the fact you don’t realise that salaries vary between countries is bizarre. Also the only reason you picked France is because it’s convenient. You could easily have picked Australia but you rejected that idea because it does not support your idea that healthcare workers should not receive much pay (your comment about Australia being a smaller country makes absolutely zero sense given we are talking about government funded employees and a smaller country just means a smaller tax base.)

The argument that the UK should pay less just because France pays less is a nonsensical argument but the Bearman knows that.

I was trying to establish why doctors are paid so much better in UK than in a comparable country. It's almost like you don't like the truth. Uncomfortable with facts, aincha?

The fact that this is where you are in the debate proves absolutely that you haven't grasped the topics at all. Oh dear. Oh deary dear. That's embarrassing Van. There's only so much allowance you can be given for being a bit thick.

Don't be such a bloody idiot. Smaller country/smaller tax base? What the f**k are you talking about? A smaller tax base might a) be very wealthy and b) would only be paying tax to serve that small population.

If you don't want a bankrupt country, pay the finance-wankers minimum wage. Ban profit as an individual personal wealth spin-off. Give the workers shares. Hang Johnson. And Gove. And Patel. And the rest.

I would. But what if you have to choose between a thirty year old murdering scumbag and a 60 year old excellent person who saves lives? Does triage become a moral process, those doing the picking and choosing themselves of unknown/dubious nature? Or do you have to earn points? Didn't they make a film like this, where people bought or stole points to live?

There was a time film where you were alloted so many hours at birth. Or maybe the clock started ticking at 18. Then you had to work to earn hours of life or your head exploded. Rich people had hundreds of years of life. Poor people were scrabbling for hours day to day. Good film.
