Young girls and grown women should be able to dress or pose as they like without fear of attracting nutters, but reality is if you dress or pose in a provocative manner you will have more chance of attracting the nutters as the male brain is cued on visionary stimulation, this was the notion behind the Islamic requirement to dress modestly before it got perverted by misogyny, so it's really a choice they have to make for themselves, you do run the risk of attracting the attention of low lives if you go down the route of "out sexying" your peers.
Having said that I don't really see the picture in this post as being provocative or sexual, it's natural for girls to want to look attractive as that's how they attract a partner, she's not sitting there in her knickers or doing anything overt so I'm not in agreement that she can be accused of doing anything that brought about this fate, what she was doing in real life is anyone's guess and she can most likely be a victim of a depraved mind and nothing else.

Suggestible rather than suggestive, perhaps?

Beyond 'teenage girl' how do you profile her?

A) Can you post a link to studies proving that attire increases risk of attack? B) What does that have to do with a photo of the girl supplied to a newspaper? C) Why are so many people who are critical of extremist Islamist beliefs on female modesty / attire happy to replicate those beliefs in everyday life?

Interesting that we think of these pictures as being supplied to the papers. I think those days are probably gone and what we're seeing is photos lifted off Facebook etc. Hence the duckfaces. I doubt many parents would choose a gurnograph for the dead child to be remembered by.

I see you're unable to answer Van's questions. The weirdest thing about your hang-ups here, Baloo, is that it's not even a particularly duck-facey photo.

Critical of Islamic beliefs? Stoning women to death do you mean? The belief that female modesty is required to control men behaviour. The belief that men are savage animals who are "provoked" into assault by a woman's photograph "pose", or attire. It's an odd double standard that when brown men ponder the connection between sexual assault and women's attire they are considered misogynist. When white men do it it is "valid comment".

If there wasn't the "duck face" photo, they'd no doubt find something else about the girl that was the cause for her to be raped and murdered, what ever the circumstances, it was always going to her who caused the rape and murder to chumps like nb and pk.

It is a weird one even by Bear man's typically low trolling standards.
If you take a slightly pouty photo sometime in your life, you increase the likelihood of a random man attacking you on the street.
Erm, ok.

Its that pervasive idea among certain blokes that if only we can fix women to be a certain way they wont get raped and murdered

Very odd indeed that men control the way women dress, to protect women from men.
