Also Darth Vader's voice.
I always found it a bit funny they kept that a secret in case its knowledge effected the GCC campaigns.

Agreed. And the fact that he was Mark Hamill's father. Who knew?
Seriously though - RIP; we'll miss one of the best voices of stage and screen.

That's a shame. Coincidentally, I was thinking about him the other day when a trailer for Nashville came on. I might watch it again, it was pretty good.

Tony Soper AND Chris Serle? Aww shame.
I remember Tony Soper occasionally working with Johnny Morris on Animal Magic - bl**dy loved that program. His west current "burr" was a breath of fresh air in the days when BBC Received Pronunciation still reigned supreme.
And Chris Serle with the dental profession's favourite personality, Esther Rantzen, on That's Life - watched it, didn't particularly like it, but hey.
RIP both.

Apparently Tony Soper despised Animal Magic. He didn't care for the talking animals bit. Each to their own, I guess.

I don't really recall who either of those were. I've always hated talking animals. Not as much as talking babies, but I definitely hated and still hate them. The shittest of lazy TV things. So, even though I have no idea who he was, he was obviously right in the head.

It's funny, but it occurs to me that there was a sort of differentiation for thick kids, back in the day. Animal Magic was certainly a bit dumbed down. As was ITV generally.

Balls. Although she just seemed to play the same character she was really good at it.

I love how all headlines of all British actors who die are now "Harry Potter Star Maggie Smith has died at the age of 128" which are then followed by "Smith also starred in Downton Abbey" and, after that "Smith won 17 Oscars, 422 BAFTAs, 19 Gielgud awards".
Although, to be fair, I'm not sure I saw her in anything which was actually notable. I think by the time she was appearing in films I was watching she was already "National Treasure Maggie Smith Appearing In Something Beneath Her But Which Paid Well"
