Two men who ate dead squirrels outside a vegan food stall in protest against veganism have been convicted of public order offences and fined. Deonisy Khlebnikov, 22, and Gatis Lagzdins, 29, bit into the furry animals at the Soho Vegan Food Market in Rupert Street, London, on 30 March. The pair denied using disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress at a trial at City of London Magistrates' Court in June. They were found guilty on Monday. Natalie Clines, from the CPS, said: "Deonisy Khlebnikov and Gatis Lagzdins claimed they were against veganism and were raising awareness about the dangers of not eating meat when they publicly consumed raw squirrels. www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-49084466Can you imagine the pearl clutching of those on the vegan stall, though really, a raw squirrel? You could have got them just as worked up with a burger or a chicken drumstick. Ewwwwwwww! I mean that’s pretty f**k**g extremely gross lengths to go to wind up some vegans. Immies, of course.

It seems Arkansas is leading the way: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jul/23/arkansas-veggie-burger-soy-milk-law-banIs a veggie burger actually a burger? Is it misleading to call it one? Soon, stores in Arkansas might not be able to call veggie burgers veggie burgers, or soy milk soy milk. Inside the impossible burger: is the meat-free mega trend as good as we think? Read more
That’s because a new law set to go into effect this week will prohibit what officials are calling misleading and confusing packaging on food items. Advocates for the law say that people might buy a veggie burger and be confused, because it is not meat-based. Although the word “veggie” does seem to offer a clue.
The law would prohibit the use of terms like “meat”, “sausage”, and “beef” on products that are not made from animals, as well as prohibit the labelling of items like cauliflower rice as “rice” or soy milk as “milk”. It would be punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 for each violation. Similar laws have passed in states throughout the country including Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, and South Dakota.

Also the story of the squirrel eaters is odd.
I can understand vegans protesting meat as they view it as animal cruelty.
But why would you need to protest somebody’s personal decision not to eat meat?

The Aussie woman took to a vegan group on Facebook looking for support, but got a rude awakening when her fellow meat-free members slammed her for the controversial decision. While many supported her decision to have a vegan menu at her wedding, people we angry how she was treating her family, who she labelled “murderers” over their choice of diet. LINK

I think they are protesting against the vegan's attempts to force us all down the vegan route as per whitewine's post. “Just for some context, some family members were told they are not invited to my wedding because we don’t want to host murderers,” she continued. “Our wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days of our lives.”

All the vegans I've happened upon are po-faced bores. They tend to float around sites of spiritual significance, like Machu Picchu, Angkor Wat and Glastonbury Tor.

Anti-vegetation/anti-vegan trolls are really very odd. It's like a freaky form of aspergers to get upset that other people aren't eating what you're eating.

Do the squirrel eating twats actually believe that there's a moral imperative to eat squirrels?

B) It’s a f**k**g Wedding. Surely the choice of menu/guest list/music/venue etc is down to the bride and groom? Not sure that’s really a case of “forcing everyone down the vegan route.” It’s also the oddest thing to protest.

Do the squirrel eating twats actually believe that there's a moral imperative to eat squirrels? There probably is in the UK. The place is alive with them and they're organic.

They're not easy to skin and they need stewing for ages. Never tried a raw one.

The two were just acting like pure Cnut's at a market stall, and were arrested charged and found guilty for upsetting shoppers, vegan and non vegans.
Never eaten raw meat, and never seen anyone eat raw meat, it's rare I believe.

A good steak tartare is really a thing of wonder. Any non-vegetarian who refused to eat it is weird.

Raw fish is quite good when its prepared right, tuna especially just melts in the mouth.
