Trump has gone further than Obama in wooing the Christian Zionist vote but Obama also needed these votes so he followed a policy of appeasement towards Israel.

My eldest is in Israel right now, he is on a trip organised by the Jewish Society in Uni, 6 days in Israel visiting all the historical sites and archaeological digs!
It cost me £300 which is obviously subsidised by the Israeli government as they are in a 4 star hotel and have also been to the West Bank and Golan, as well as the dead sea and mountains, no way that costs £300, but he's astute enough to know when it's a PR excursion!
What he's telling me it sounds like a fabulous country to visit, even the wife's showing interest, off to Crete this year but Israel maybe on the cards for next!
Other than Avi obviously Anyone been? I think I recall Van having visited?

Baloo saw it and in his humble opinion it's schlock.

It's schlock ok. Tip-mounted engines? Haha! Only if you want assymetric thrust if you have an engine failure on take off. Almost always fatal.
Very stylish though.

Good luck to them. Submarines use batteries, but not by choice. I guess that electric just isn't where the market is yet as there's plenty of filthy oil available the pollution happens largely out of sight
The carbon footprint of merchant shipping is staggering though.

Perhaps you can think of some other examples where your engineers have used wing-tip engines?
They're pretty few and far between. Centre line thrust, that's what you want. It's nice and reassuring to have twins, but if one stops .... you might just get to decide where you have your accident.
A few aircraft combine puller and pusher props front and back, but that has it's own problems with ground clearance and rotation, I think. Most designers just try and get them as close as they can to the fuselage, or use a single turboprop (which are more reliable and said to be safer than a pair of pistons.)
Anyway, that's my humble opinion opinion explained.

... Aviation is out of my engineering skills.... Give me stucturs, computer aided design... In the 1980's we were in the Technion computer center with the engineers that designed the LAVI - the Israeli fighter jet. Thats as close as I got to aviation...

Aviation is just my hobby really. I grew up with aircraft, so I understand the principles, but I'm no expert.

I think you're probably thinking of the IAI Kfir? The Lavi was a completely Istaeli design. The prototype even flew. But since we could never manufactue as many as we need it was scraped in favour of US planes. Its a long and very sad story for me ....
