Killers of the Flower Moon. Not bad, but bloody long and didn’t need to be that long. Also the book is 10 times better, explains things better, has a more coherent narrative, didn’t have DeNiro gurning. But if you’re too lazy to read I guess watching the movie is better than nothing

Does the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch count?
I did that over t'weekend but, in spite of putting out enough birdseed, fat-balls etc. to feed the Amazon basin, there were way fewer birds than last year. In the end, my hour-long vigil resulted in one red kite and one blackbird to which, to bolster the numbers, I added a Sainsburys chicken.
I blame global warming. So Trump.

Kindred - breathtakingly stupid protagonist.
Don’t Breathe - the plot holes ruined the film for me.

Asteroid City, very weird and stylized, really liked it.

It's a really odd film. If you don't normally like Wes Anderson, you'd really hate it.
I like Anderson, but even I found the whole envelope thing deeply pointless and annoying - the stuff in B&W set in the theatre. The super-vivid 50s colours of the 50s stuff in the desert was good enough and very Anderson, but the wrapper was frustrating and boring. Not the worst film I've seen in the last year (I've seen some utter sh*t) but also in the bottom rank of Wes Anderson films.

Did I mention that I really liked Oppenheimer. Lots of interesting stuff I didn't know. The chronological structure didn't annoy me. The three hour run time was actually about right for the content and not baggy. Fun to see so many famous actors, and see so many famous quantum scientists. Higher rank of Nolan films (better than Dunkirk, Tenet and that Batman sh*t, better than the silly second half of Interstellar).
Also, Klaus Fuchs was the great uncle of someone I cycle with.

Anatomy of a Fall. Very good. Interesting in how bilingual it is. The dog is great. The fight scene is incredible slow burn. So well acted.

Binge-watched Season 1 of Fargo, where Martin Freeman is the anti-hero. Mrs. Mogg and I quite enjoyed it.
Does anyone know if the following seasons are just as good?

I enjoyed seasons 2 & 3. I don't know why, but I couldn't commit to season 4. I think possibly because each season was a bit worse than before. My expectations might have been low and the reviews not great. Reviews say 5 is fantastic, but I've not got round to it yet.

The Trial of the Chicago 7. Don't know hoe accurate it was, but not bad despite Sacha Baron Cohen's weird American accent.
Beef, about two people caught up in the aftermath of a road rage incident. Thought the premise sounded dumb, but it was quite good. Very good acting in the main roles (except for one of the characters, who I thought was awful).

Loved Beef. Thought it was very good. Had me on edge a lot.
Deserved to be mentioned with Bear as among this years best things.

Watched a film called "Freelance" last night starring John Cena as a freelance body guard who goes off to protect a journalist in a terribly fake made up Latin American banana republic.
It sounds terrible. Because it is.
Utter toss.
About a third of the way in, the missus asked "Was this written by AI?"
It has 6% on Rotten Tomatoes, and that might be generous.

Yeah, Beef surprised me. Can you guess the actor I though sucked?
