Treason. Not, surprisingly, about Biden or Khan but a weak load of nonsense about Russian spies etc. Moderately watchable although I'm sure I'd seen it before.

A Simple Favor - perky vlogger meets dark woman at their kids' school and things get interesting quickly. Not bad.
The Forgiven - Clash of cultures as a bunch of rich pretentious twats throw a party in the Moroccan desert and one of the twats (Ralph Fiennes) kills a native boy with his car.

Death of Stalin, very good and very funny

Yes, very good. It captured the cynical, drunken, madness very well. I assume so anyway, as I wasn't there.
That's what it must be like to work for the TUC. It's quite like the NHS, only more competent and with no chicks.

A side reason I liked Death of Stalin (and, ironically given how different they are, Chernobyl) is that they didn't have people speaking English in Russian accents as a way of pretending they're speaking Russian - which is clearly a completely f**k**g daft premise - and instead just had the actors using their own voices normally.

I thought the characters were well-developed and distinctive. Also, the actors were very well selected, especially the military officer who was almost universally identifiable.

Rebus - the new version. Why the f*ck I married a Scots bird, Lord knows. It's not bad but where's the music? Rebus was always a big music fan. How* did they get a Weedgie to play him? He's fae Fife, ya tubes! *nice attention to detail by the scriptwriter- substituting "how" for "why" in Scottish schemie fashion.

I watched "Madam Web" the other day. A Marvel superhero thingy on Netflix. All superhero movies are sh*t, of course, but f**k me this was exceptionally sh*t. I was watching it as dumb background material, so wasn't expecting much. I was still expecting too much. To describe it as weak gruel is unfair on weak gruel.

I watched Christopher Reeve Superman and I think the first two of the Michael Keaton Batmans. Since then I've watched a handful of superhero movies, usually when someone says "It's actually a great film, not just a great Superhero film", like Wonder Woman, or Black Panther, or Iron Man, or when someone puts one on in the background - Antman, perhaps, and Aquaman, and a couple of others. They are basically the same film - someone has some back story that gives them powers. Then an antihero with similar powers comes along, and our superhero learns to use their powers to fight them, then there's an overlong stupid fight scene. And end. It's boring and sh*t, but can be mildly diverting. This managed to lose even the dumb action charm. It was just unadulterated sh*t.

I've never seen a Batman film.
Went to the cinema the other day for the first time in years to see Rise of the War for the Struggle for the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Not bad if a bit long and daft at times.

Oddly, none of the apes seemed to have genitals, even though they were naked.
