Never watched season 3. I was entertained by the first two seasons, but it began to feel like it was going nowhere.

I've yet to see a good spooky film without all the usual make-you-jump bollocks. The Amityville Horror started promising and descended into nonsense. The ring was crap, no pun intended, and that other thing where they all wandered around the woods at night was utter shite. I've read some good ghost stories but none seems to make the transition to film.

Almost all horror films are, at best, mediocre. The Others is decent ghost story.

Yeah seen that. Not bad. Bit more intelligent than most. The Exorcist could have been better, but at least it was atmospheric.

The Little Stranger is meant to be good in that atmospheric ghost story way. The book is very good but I haven't seen the film yet.

I read a book years ago about a ghost hunter in India who set himself up for the night in a deserted temple where a dancing girl had been forced to dance to her death. He took a flask of tea and his trusty bull terrier along, but at a certain time during the night the dog began whining and tried to hide behind him as across the floor in front of him the dust began to swirl about as if disturbed by invisible dancing feet. He began to feel incredibly sad and exhausted and had difficulty leaving.
But we've lived in a few haunted houses and apparently inexplicable things do happen.

The Legend of Hell House, 1973 British version, was fantastic. So was the original Halloween.

Horror films are for teenagers to sit around giggling and scaring themselves, and they were great for a laugh, but sadly the trend towards gore porn such as saw just made them unpleasant tbh
Though a good suspense film can still be worth watching.
Watched Ben is Back yesterday, very good, if a bit bleak. Does a great job showing how addiction is such a hard thing.

I don't think I ever enjoyed a horror (rather than suspense) movie. That said - the zombies in Santa Clarita Diet remain ridiculously funny.

Well, that certainly stunk. The first 15 minutes of "It" was fantastic, creepy as hell, even in the daylight. Then it was straight downhill for the rest of it.

"Horry films are for teenagers to sit around giggling and scaring themselvesas usual. ,"
Wrong, as usual. And you forgot to say they're racist, too.

Budget and time constraints, etc. The original Exorcist movie scared the crap out of me (along with almost everyone else) when it first hit the theaters. And the book was even scarier. Actually had the luck of meeting actress Kitty Winn when they were filming for the movie in Arlington National Cemetery. She played Sharon, Regans moms secretary. Been in love with her ever since. Exorcist III, with George C. Scott , was creepy too.
