Today going to watch the 2017 re-make of Steven Kings "It" (spooky clown) Steven King movies never seem to live up to the book, loved the book The Stand,, movie was fair at best,, I found 'Misery' to be the exception to the rule. That was a good Stephen King adaptation. All the others have been shite.

Also the only film adaptation I know which is superior to the book is City of God.

I've yet to see a good spooky film without all the usual make-you-jump bollocks. The Amityville Horror started promising and descended into nonsense. The ring was crap, no pun intended, and that other thing where they all wandered around the woods at night was utter shite. I've read some good ghost stories but none seems to make the transition to film. It Follows is a great great horror movie. I saw 'Us' on Saturday which was pretty decent. It Follows unavailable on amazon, bah.

It Follows is no better than "good". It stands out in a field of shite that makes is seem better than it is. I watched The Little Stranger last night - pish. Great book, boring drivel as a film.

We've been watching Arrested Development which was a brilliant for the first couple of series but then becomes Soap/Airplane with a silly, adolescent obsession with bumfoolery.
Henry Winkler is hilarious. He's been in a couple of things recently and I have been amazed by what a good comic actor he is. I had thought he was a bit of a precious luvvy.

Netflix is very good. I broke our satellite dish recently so we could get terrestrial TV. There was absolutely no rush to replace it and I don't think we've watched more than a hour's worth since it was re-tuned last week.

That's a fair assessment of both Arrested Development and Henry Winkler.

Here are a few excellent horror movies to watch.
2007s "Room 1408"
1994s "In the Mouth of Madness"
2007s "Trick 'r Treat"
Very atmospheric movies. Great acting, great storylines/plots, no make-you-jump gimmicks that ootlg mentioned. Just good, scary, movies

I've watched the first two episodes of Derry Girls - on the recommendations of many normally trustworthy types. But it's just not very funny, is it?

1st or 2nd season? I liked the 1st season but it's fallen away in the 2nd.
