thank woke for tackling this monumental devastatingly important issue. now colored people can look at birds again without melting down into a quivering mass of jelly. surely this will finally end racism.

by the way, have the lives of blacks improved since the washington and lee university in virginia removed the statue of robert e. lee's horse and removed the plaque from the horse's gravesite? how much will renaming the Magellanic Clouds improve oppressed lives. incurious minds want to know.

It's an effortless and harmless change. It's not devastatingly important, but it is utterly trivial to no longer call the "Tubman Lark" the "Plantation Lynchbird" so why not?
As for the statues to the people who were trying to destroy the republic in order to maintain slavery, if you think that it was directly about the sensibilities of black people then - as usual - you weren't listening.

how was robert e. lee's horse trying to destroy the republic? removing the horses statue and removing the plaque from the horses gravesite was nothing but a selfish feel good act so they could brag about fighting racism. nothing was accomplished except removing a bit of history.

Why do you need a statue to the horse of a man who was trying to destroy the republic? The horse is only of note because of who rode it and the wars it was ridden in - you know that, right?

Why are you this upset over a statue coming down? Also why on earth would you seek to honour somebody who want to destroy the USA?

Why do the right hate the US so much they want to maintain statues of traitors?
Should have replaced it with a statue of Sherman the liberator of the South.

calling astronomical black holes black holes is racist.
bird names cause trauma in non whites.
geology is racist.
horses are conscious beings that can make decisions on which side to take in a war.
the left has truly divorced itself from reality.

Rick's allegiance lies with a traitor to the country.
Now there's a shocker.

Rick's allegiance lies with a traitor to the country. Now there's a shocker. so you agree with the thing that the horse was a traitor and that the horse was a sentient being that consciously chose which side to serve.

Why is there a statue to that horse? Remind me again why that particular horse is noted? What's so special that we need that statue?

"Also why on earth would you seek to honour somebody who want to destroy the USA?" how,,, was,,, a,,, horse,,, trying,,, to,,, destroy,,, the,,, union? Whose horse was it? who cares except you. we have always honored and marveled at courageous animals. war dogs, rescue dogs, hannibals elephants. now the left is questioning the animals political leanings. "oh no, it was robert e. lees horse, so it has to be removed!" cancel culture.

Is this a statue of the horse? Or a statue of Lee sitting on the horse?

Well if no one cares who's horse it was, why are you melting down and crying like a dropped baby about its removal. Cos if no one cares who's horse it was, removing it bearly is worth a line on page 94 of the local paper and the screeching in the far right media is even more stupid than usual right?
