Or oceanic white tip has attacked a woman in Polynesia. Grim stuff. "A French tourist has had her hands and chest bitten by a shark leaving her seriously injured in a rare attack in the Pacific islands of Polynesia. The 35-year-old woman was swimming off the island of Moorea during a whale-watching trip on Monday in the French overseas territory when the oceanic whitetip shark tore into her chest and arms. The woman lost both of her hands in the incident, emergency services said Tuesday. One of her breasts had also been ripped from her body, according to local media reports." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7600697/French-woman-hands-ripped-shark-attack.html

I stay out of the ocean. It's even more dangerous than Australia.

I suppose you'd have to look quite carefully at your insurance to make sure you were covered for snorkeling in shark-infested waters. It is, I guess, inherently risky and you could make a case that the risk was real and that you put yourself in danger. Dunno. It's a slight risk but is it one that you could say was avoidable, give that these young men were on holiday and it was likely that they would go snorkeling?

It's probably less risky than driving somewhere abroad. Even if they do drive on the proper side of the road.
