Maybe they can arrange for one of the Markles to fly up and present the awards?

Surely staying alive now disqualifies you from getting a Duke of Edinburgh award?

I thought that was true while the Duke was still alive. Do you not have to emulate him?

I wonder what's changed since I was at school (other than online stuff)? There was very little in the way of sexual harassment in my day. So what's changed?

You don’t think this is a problem?

Everything. Inappropriate comments, inappropriate touching etc.

Well, quite. I don't remember sexual harassment at school and I haven't seen it when I have been in school recently. The kids seem to be pretty good at calling out that kind of behaviour.
The online stuff is horrible though. How we allowed that to happen, I've no idea.

Quelle surprise:
“ Girls in particular were frustrated that there was not clear teaching about what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.”

I'm not sure that's the school's place TBH. Sure, they could give some guidelines, but specific scenarios? Dunno, it's deeper than that. The kind of prick that behaves like that is unlikely to respond to instruction in the matter as he already knows it's wrong. He just thinks it's okay for him to do it.

There was no issue with sexual harassment at my school but that’s because we didn’t have boys. Sexual harassment (arising from sexual entitlement) is a male problem.

You only have to look at Me Too to see there are a ton of men and boys who genuinely think they aren’t being inappropriate - it’s just women who are being over sensitive. You cannot deal with an issue by just throwing your hands up when you have the option to educate you should take it.

Everything. Inappropriate comments, inappropriate touching etc. Inappropriate comments up to a point. Do you mean sexually inappropriate, by the way? For example, the most common insult from one boy to another was to call them a poof, although its useage ranged from bantz with your mates to serious insult and everything in between. Sexual insults or comments between boys and girls were not so common but it occasionally happened. This was rarely if ever done within earshot of a teacher. Actual touching, I can't remember hearing about a single incident which isn't to say it never happened but schools aren't known as places for for keeping secrets. The only thing that springs to mind, although I wouldn't count it, was that female PE teachers would sometimes come into our changing rooms after PE to talk to our PE teacher about something or other.

Maybe. I just don't think schools would do a good job of it. Also, I suspect that it's got a large "cultural" component and they won't go near that. Nuh-uh
