The 'Legion of Brothers' that routed the Taliban(CNN)"The documentary feature film "Legion of Brothers" tells the stories of the handful (12 Green Beret troops on horseback) of US Special Forces soldiers who, shortly after the 9/11 attacks, went into Taliban-controlled Afghanistan and within a matter of weeks overthrew the Taliban regime." edition.cnn.com/2017/05/17/opinions/legion-of-brothers-bergen/index.htmlthat is a successful military campaign. not this disaster we are witnessing now.

heaven help the women and schoolgirls. apparently, in his rush to be anti-trump, when asked about the women and schoolgirls, he said f**k them. i'm looking for the quote. You really believe Biden said that? read it again.

The clue's in the word "deal". Deal, not hysterical panic which is what Biden's opted for. Joe's Genocide.

You really believe Biden said that? read it again. We were talking about Biden and you interjected with that. Thinking you believed that was said about Biden is a reasonable inference.

This is thread good on the withdrawal.
Basically, anyone who expected perfect conditions for a withdrawal are mendacious. They are, in fact, the same generals and neocons who've been pushing the agenda for the forever-war: Oh, we can't withdraw until conditions are perfect, but conditions are never going to be perfect so we'll never have a withdrawal.

On February 29, 2020, the US and the Taliban signed a peace agreement titled the Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan, with provisions including the withdrawal of all regular American and NATO troops from Afghanistan, a Taliban pledge to prevent al-Qaeda from operating in areas under Taliban control, and talks between the Taliban and the government of the then Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The deal was supported by China, Pakistan, and Russia, and unanimously endorsed by the United Nations Security Council.
The Trump administration agreed to an initial reduction from 13,000 to 8,600 troops by July 2020, followed by a full withdrawal by May 1 2021

I see even Biden's Wall Street Journal has rightly turned against him. "President Biden’s statement on Saturday washing his hands of Afghanistan deserves to go down as one of the most shameful in history by a Commander in Chief at such a moment of American retreat. As the Taliban closed in on Kabul, Mr. Biden sent a confirmation of U.S. abandonment that absolved himself of responsibility, deflected blame to his predecessor, and more or less invited the Taliban to take over the country." www.wsj.com/articles/biden-afghanistan-surrender-withdrawal-ashraf-ghani-kabul-saigon-jihadist-9-11-11629054041

I've seen a lot of takes about how "disastrous" western intervention has been. I'm not sure it's been that disastrous for most Afghans - things seem to be going back to where they were 20 years ago. The Taliban are in charge. It's not disastrous in the sense of taking a poor situation and making it much, much worse like the US did in Vietnam or the US did in Panama or the US did in Iraq or the US did in Somalia. It's taking a disastrous situation to start with and ending up with the same disastrous situation. It's been pretty disastrous for the US taxpayer and very disastrous for the people who've died in the past 20 years. But it's not been disastrous in the way it's presented by some.

The world's media ('cept the BBC of course) are united in utter condemnation of Biden. mol.im/a/9897611 New York Post editorial says Mr Biden's claims that he 'inherited' Donald Trump's withdrawal plans were a 'lie'exactly. trump told the taliban in no uncertain terms retaliation would be very severe if they tried what they are now doing. biden said 'meh, do what you want.'
