Typical attitude of those who had a privileged upbringing. Just chuck stuff away and buy new stuff.

Typical of someone with a privileged upbringing - don't get rid of stuff you don't need because your mansion will be big enough for it all and because someone else is paying to move it.
Those of us who have to pay by the kg for each item move have to make careful choices about what to save, what to give away, and which 30 year old bank statements finally need to go in the bin.

Sadly too many direct descendants. We are not going to be getting any Voice-like benefit to our bank accounts.

Busy times really. My daughter was here last week and the boy turned up yesterday with a charming French-Canadian pal of his. They went hiking in the hills and I joined them in The Star for a couple of pints later.
The proto-DiL is on her way down this morning, so a decent walk and a late Sunday Roast is in the offing, with my parents coming along.
Mrs. B still being dutiful in Spain, driving to and from Granada Hospital every day. The old boy seems to be rallying, but I suspect it’s going to be a rough few months, and expensive.

I'm doing a half marathon next week so I've been training for that. Did a long run in the almost Chilterns near Princes Risborough yesterday and used the Komoot app for a route. It wasn't ideal as I spent half the time running with my phone in my hand. Still, injury free which is a bonus.

I must say I find Komoot a bit of an arse-ache. Maybe I need to stick with it.

Not head of komoot, been using Alltrails for years, works well for the most part. Biggest problem here is often in thick tree cover it won't work, same as my Garmin, gotta find a clear bit to get satellite connection

I think my mistake was using a hiking route for running. The turns come up a bit faster when you're running and there are so many paths in woods that it's easy to miss a turn or add one where there isn't. Sometimes it's just wrong or paths change and get overgrown.

I wouldn't want to use a route app for running for exactly those reasons. It's fine on the bike because you can look at the map on your GPS and can plan, but I never want to hold anything in my sweaty slippery hands when running.

Mrs. Mogg and I are still feeling sorry for ourselves as we've both succumbed to what my GP says is "that new 100-day cold". Still, keeps her kids and the granddaughters away, so not all bad.
"New"? I guess that's alright then, and makes me feel so much better.

I've had a couple of friends who've had some version of this Long Cold which takes forever to shake off and gives people incredibly nagging coughs and congestion and which never tests positive for anything. Sorry to hear it, Moggster. Congratulations on getting to talk to a GP about a cold, though. Good work.
