It should be noted that all the reporting on Trump winning the house comes from people who don't read their own news.

Gaetz resigning means that the Republicans are still just short of the total needed to control the house. It's 99% certain they'll win another seat, and obviously when Gaetz's seat has a new election they'll win it, but technically they haven't yet. Also, 2 more - Stefanik and Waltz - are going to join the Trump administrtion so temporarily there are 432 seats of which the Republicans will actually only currently have 215.

There are 9 still left too close to call or going to recounts or with enough uncounted votes to be uncertain. Republicans are leading in 4 of those so they'll still almost certainly win, but that's been true all week. If you're going to report today that they've won the house you're technically wrong.

There are degrees of non-qualification though. Tulsi Gabbard is a known Putiniste for Security Advisor. RFK is explicit about wanting more children to be sick and die with his desire to remove vaccines and fluoride as health sec.

The others I think are horribly unqualified but in the usual way rather than exceptional. Gaetz was unqualified in an exceptional way.
