I dated a guy who was Jew-ish and that was probably accurate…

... and the difference is? Do I have to spoon-feed you everything? It's moot anyway. Even if Jordan (ha! I see what she's done there) were a full-blood, practicing Orthodox Jew, it only makes my point even more clearly. She clearly doesn't trade on her jewishness, so it's irrelevant to the topic. That is entirely consistent with my model.

Mids posted this earlier, but the .... errr .... stramash (as everyone on the BBC says) is quite revealing. "A public information campaign highlighting the introduction on 1 April of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act has begun — and is itself controversial. It includes a Police Scotland video featuring a character called the hate monster who gets "bigger and bigger, "till he's weighing ye doon." "Then, before ye know it," the subtitled video goes on, "ye've committed a hate crime." The video has been ridiculed on social media as patronising. The former Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont described it on X, formerly Twitter, as "puerile," adding "the notion that hate is driven by economic disadvantage insults all who support their families and communities despite poverty." 'It ignores the hatred exercised by those who are financially secure," she added.'" www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-68570614All the hallmarks of Lefist posturing victim-symbiosis. Meanwhile, fuckall gets done.

Went for a lovely walk along the seafront in the sunshine with Mrs. B. Walked back through the high street and was struck by the sight of a woman sitting outside a shop, clearly junkie. She was drifting in and out of consciousness (maybe just dozing off) and she was covered in cuts, bruises and what I took to be jab marks.
Saturday morning, in a public place in one of the wealthiest parts of one of the wealthiest countries on Earth. Surely we can do better that this?

The latest thing will be safe injecting sites or whatever they're called. They're being trialled in Scotland so I expect Labour will do the same.

Labour certainly aren't showing that they've got any ideas of their own, that's for sure.
It's all about the magic money tree for them. Even that new mantra about the Tories crashing the economy is long past its sell-by date.

They've had safe consumption sites here for ages, cuts down on overdoses and deaths and improves long term outcomes over all. They are a good idea. We've also had clean supply programs that, when used, have a positive impact on reducing overdoses and death. Harm reduction works far better than draconian measures. The more moves to make addiction a health condition and not a criminal justice matter the better.

We should still work hard on the criminals that supply it though. I agree we should treat the poor sods that use it, and not on the streets.
It's a shame. A real bloody shame. It is shaming.

We should have a good hard look at what other countries do. These are our people FFS.

Funny, the rabbit holes you go down on a wet Sunday morning. There was an article by some dickhead academic at Harvard, which was so silly that I looked her up. She had the same surname as a lad I was at school with and I wondered where he was these days. Dead, as it turns out. Killed in a car crash a couple of years ago while carrying a potentially fatal amount of methadone in his system.
What a pity. He was a lovely, gentle and funny lad. He was wild, but I never knew him say or do anything unkind all the time I knew him. He was a scholarship boy, but he was always in trouble and his grades were famously shocking. I remember he once got six Es and 3 Ds. How do I remember that? Some wag realised that he could spell his own surname three times.

Yeah,I wonder how he came to be so f**k*d up. He was a glue-sniffer at school. I remember him inhaling UHU from a breadbag on a cadet exercise once. We can only have been fourteen or fifteen.
