Seems about right. It probably speaks volumes about the scary Russian bear that they cant stop themselves being shot out of the sky by their own side, using their own kit, while the Israelis swan in and out at their leisure.

"This week's Paris Airshow saw the launch of the world's first commercial all-electric passenger aircraft - albeit in prototype form. Israeli firm Eviation says the craft - called Alice - will carry nine passengers for up to 650 miles (1,040km) at 10,000ft (3,000m) at 276mph (440km/h). It is expected to enter service in 2022. Alice is an unconventional-looking craft: powered by three rear-facing pusher-propellers, one in the tail and two counter-rotating props at the wingtips to counter the effects of drag. It also has a flat lower fuselage to aid lift." www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-48630656I call bullshit!

Oh, it's not the powerplant, more the platform. It's flimflam, isn't it? The head costermonger says that they haven't just designed a groovy-looking aircraft for the sake of it. Well, I dispute that. The proof's in the fact that the Cessna Caravan is already being converted.
I would say that they have cravenly saught the most eye-catching 1950s Jetsons design they could find. Has it flown yet? Nope. And yet they've got "orders" from another Israeli company.
Hey, I'm just playing the game on the thread which encourages bold predictions. I may be wrong, but this smacks of snake oil to me.

Second only to the IT sector perhaps, the aviation industry is replete with good ideas that didn't make it off the drawing board, let alone into the air.
Just do the maths on this thing: it will fly at 276 mph for up to 650 miles i.e. a transit time of about 2.5 hours, which a Cessna Citation can do in about 1.5. Then again, busy executive types who are perhaps the target market for this kind of thing want to get from A to B as quickly as possible, without worrying about their carbon wingprint or such stuff. Certainly Jonathan Wholemeal-Porridge-types who work for WWF might want to make a statement by using it, but the oil or automotive sectors? No chance.
Regardless, I wish them well and am willing to be proven wrong.

This is like that KLM concept plane that everyone's got very excited about, isn't it, or all those SCRAMjet stories about super-fast planes that just about to make the flight from LA to London a 3 hour hop? I guess it's a step up from that because there's a physical plane that actually exists, but I still have some serious doubts that it's ever going to be much more than a concept.

Andy:
"Nah. We really don't need to win. England, India and Oz have basically been guaranteed a spot in the final four since the tournament was designed. The entire group stage seems a bit of a waste apart from the fun of watching Bangladesh."

"A police officer has been killed while attending a reported burglary. PC Andrew Harper, of Thames Valley Police, died at about 23:30 BST on Thursday in Berkshire. Ten people aged between 13 and 30 have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in custody at various police stations across the area." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-49368649So, I'm calling gyppos. Well I am getting mixed messages on this, some reports say he was killed, hit by a car while on duty, and others making out he was murdered.

My hunch is Romanian-types. Or Irish. This is revealing. They'll all be related and mostly known to dibble as suspects in other burglaries and crimes so they knew exactly who to arrest when it a crime they couldn't just brush under the carpet. "Ten suspects – all male and aged between 13 and 30 – have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in police custody. They were arrested at a number of locations within an hour of the incident."
