Life is always full of choices. Whether you choose to take them when they arise is the biggest choice of all.

lifes choices are limited to 1. Chances are a different thing all together

All men and women are born, live suffer and die; what distinguishes us one from another is our dreams, whether they be dreams about worldly or unworldly things, and what we do to make them come about... We do not choose to be born. We do not choose our parents. We do not choose our historical epoch, the country of our birth, or the immediate circumstances of our upbringing. We do not, most of us, choose to die; nor do we choose the time and conditions of our death. But within this realm of choicelessness, we do choose how we live. --Joseph Epstein

Very few take a chances that differ from the one that theyve always taken , its usualy the same chance repeated. Are you sure your taking about chances and not a chance.
I've no idea if I'm talking about chances or a chance .Chances ,for me ,is just the plural of chance . My way of taking chances has always been " well I aint happy with it this way ,I might as well take the chance that it might be better that way because its hardly going to leave me worse off than I am now whatever way it goes "
A tree is as good as anything else .
Life is always full of choices. Whether you choose to take them when they arise is the biggest choice of all. Oh yes ..and to think you can predict the outcome of them is the biggest foolery of all

Certainty would be unbearably dull.

Sometimes ,I've also taken chances without really noticing that it's a chance .Gone with gut feelings so to speak .It's when I ignore what my gut is telling me that things tend to go tits up

It's not easy to go with a gut feeling when you've been overriding it for years, especially when it was another gut feeling in the first place that made you override the new one . However, when the old gut feeling relies on someone else having the exact same gut feeling as you and they haven't then it makes it all rather moot .Which is what has given me the second gut feeling you see

Life was never meant to be easy, death is the easy bit.
You always have choices in life, there is always at least 2 roads that you can take at any given time, and each could give you totally different lives. Some of us choose wisely, but still wonder just where we'd have ended up on the other route. It really doesn't matter what you go for, it's always a possibility that the other way could have been better.
Gut feelings are just that, some you get right, some you don't - but being human, we always still wonder.

And now he is tring to wheedle his way out of it. " When I talked about British jobs, I was taking about giving people in Britain the skills, so they have the ability to get jobs which were at present going to people from abroad and encouraging people to take up the courses and the education." thescotsman.scotsman.com/politics/Brown-accused-of-provoking-strikers.4935049.jpNot quite what we thought he meant? Remember at the Party Conferece how Brendan Barber and most of the delegates applauded this cynical use of a notorious BNP slogan? Perhaps what we are seeing harks back to 1968, when London's dockers turned their anger on immigrants and marched in favour of Enoch Powell.?
