Small snow flurries earlier this afternoon and temperatures well below freezing this evening, but nothing else so far. Temperatures expected to drop tonight along the South Coast UK to -7 degrees!

I see you're in Southend Steve, not that far from me. I'm along the South Coast and it's bitterly cold already. Got a feeling we may have snow when i wake up in the morning! Hope not! Got a lot of driving to do tomorrow morning!

I thought we were supposed to be the area which was going to get it worst, being about five meiles inland from the east coast of Suffolk. We had a few flakes around 2pm, then it stopped. A bit more at about 4pm, a little bit settled then stopped. Another slightly heavier shower at 5.30pm which again settled. As I look out of the window, there's some snow on the cars, but not enough to completely cover them, and even parts of the roads and pavements are clear. If this is the worst coming our way, then it's a pussycat of a snowstorm. There, that should be enough to tempt fate, and I now fully expect to wake up to a greeting of eight inches of the white stuff tomorrow morning.

Don't count your chucks too soon Victor! The east is going to get the worst of it from the sound of it ... then later tomorrow it's coming in from France and will spread all over England as far as Manchester and then sweep across Wales.
We've already had some hail, followed by a little snow which has just caused a dusting so far. The wind is absolutely freezing and so are the temperatures.
By this time tomorrow we'll all be in the thick of it, unless you live near the west coast.
Take care people and please watch or listen to the weather forecasts for your area. If you must go out in your car the advice is take a hot drink in a flask, blankets, extra warm clothing and boots, a shovel, maybe a torch would be a good idea too ... and of course a fully charged mobile 'phone.

Nothing here. West coast and North of Manchester by quite a bit. If we get snow it could be a surprise.

1 - 2 inches in the East Midlands, as at 0500 Monday. Currently at East Midlands airport, no news of delays (or takeoffs for that matter). Lots of flights diverted into East Midlands

How often does it snow in London?
When I was living in New Zealand, I always wanted to see snow but never got the chance - the places I lived was too warm. Now that I've seen plenty of snow (my car was covered in 2 inches of snow when I woke up last Thursday morning before work), it's actually annoying because when snow melts and then re-freezes, you get solid *ICE*. The carpark is like a skating rink.....

Snowing on and off in Birmingham. No problems getting into work though. Council seems to have done a good job with gritting the roads and pavements.

Far as I can tell, there's about three people out of almost 300 made it into work at my company today. Counting me as one of them.

West country, Somerset/Wilts border - Very light dusting of snow falling when I was doing the school run this morning. Bitter cold and it's stopped now, but what's fallen has stayed.
