So he has reason to fear extradition to the US by the UK? Possibly a pro US neocon politician/laywer/prosecutor swung it for Sweden. Assange would at least have the same opportunity to test any US request in our courts but on what charge? & I'd like to see your link supporting the assertion Assange can only be interrogated whilst in Swedish custody?

Clearly what anyone makes of the prosecution case is a red mullet. There's a warrant out for him. One the State of Ecuador considers political.

No I said your views on rape and consent were moronic. It is perfectly possible for a crime to have been committed without the victim feeling they were the victim of a crime. I don't believe I've offered my view of rape and consent, to be clear it's don't rape & get consent. Here's my view of this alleged rape, the victims didn't claim rape or want him charged with rape. Indeed both texted friends that they were having a ball with the coolest folk on the planet, later telling the prosecutor it was the worst consensual sex ever. Neither were bothered till they learned of each other and if Assange's lawyers are to believed colluding by text to make money from the media. He remained the house-guest/bedmate of the first woman for a week, he was intimate in a cinema with the second who then took him home for more intimacy. Frankly I like this second lady, she got up & went out for breakfast supplies before returning to bed for a nap, kudos for that but somehow she can't remember how many times they had sex when awake but can remember how many times when she was asleep. Kudos again though she told a joke, that always enhances sex. The first prosecutor found insufficient evidence to charge rape. Now I could understand re-opening the case if the women wanted to have him charged with rape but they didn't so I find it strange that a pro US neocon lawyer, that neither woman could afford, who also is a prosecutor can re-open the case possibly abusing the EAW in the process. Against the backdrop of a US Grand Jury trial, Sweden's known history of rendition, Manning's incarceration in naked solitary without trial I can absolutely understand Assange doing everything possible to avoid being in custody. Sweden will not rule out the possibility of onward extradition and the US will not rule out Assanges' arrest. I think two groupies had disappointing sex and that the allegations are politically motivated (not by the women) and the State of Ecuador agrees with me. You offered your view by sneering that the prosecutor claims to know better than the women if they were raped. That's not how the laws of consent work. For example if a woman is raped by her husband, but doesn't consider it rape because she is married to him, the law will still have considered it a crime. You seem to be under the impression that a crime can only have occurred if the victim agrees one has occurred.

So if they Swedish interrogators question him in the UK and find there is sufficient to charge him, will he promise to skip over to Sweden to face his accusers or will he do a Polanski?

Neither have accused him of rape. Likely if the interrogation led to charges he'd have little option but I certainly have no inside knowledge of his intentions. It's hard to imagine an outcome that would allow him to leave as a free man other than Sweden not pressing charges .

The Swedes would just have to try him in absentia. But they've left it rather late. The UN has ruled that Assage is being illegally detained, so he has to be set free first, before the case of Swedish rape can go agead.

And as it's nonsensical it's best for Britain and Norway to ignore it.

One the State of Ecuador considers political. One the UK doesn't. Not sure what point you are trying to make? Are you saying political asylum isn't legal?

Not sure what point you are trying to make? Are you saying political asylum isn't legal? Nope, I'm saying all this guff about the merits of the case are precisely that, guff. Sweden want him, there is a perfectly legal extradition warrant in place, and if he sets foot in the UK it'll be served.

Well duh! However political asylum is a legal avenue if you can convince a sovereign state.

Well duh! However political asylum is a legal avenue if you can convince a sovereign state. So he's legally aloud to stay where he is and we are legally allowed to hit him hard on the head with a shovel extradite him the minute he pops his head out.

there is a perfectly legal extradition warrant in place,
The warrant is no longer valid. The UN has given a ruling that he must be released from detention and his legal rights restored, in accordance with international law. That means he is free to travel to Ecuador, or anywhere else. That cancels the European Arrest Warrant. They also add that he is entitled to compensation.
Since no charges have been brought against him, there is no reason for him to travel to Sweden. The investigation into all allegations, except one, has been dropped. The Swedish prosecutor has the option of interviewing Assange in London but has not bothered to follow the quite normal procedure of going abroad to pursue an investigation. That suggests that the remaining case is too weak to come to a trial and would be dropped, like the other cases.
The problem is that the UK and Sweden have refused to respect his right to political asylum. If he steps out of the Ecuadorian Embassy he will end up in Swedish custody and will eventually be passed on to the Americans. There, he is facing the threat of imprisonment for life, or even execution. Chelsey Manning is serving a 36 year sentence in connection with the Wikileaks affair, so the prospects for the founder of Wikileaks are even worse.

With all this bleating from the rape apologists about this mythical US extradition, I hope he does get extradited straight to the US of A the second Sweden are done with him. And I hope Donald Trump is the president when he does so.

That's a pretty tried and tested tactic.
