Poached eggs with bacon and hollandaise sauce on open-faced muffins for breakfast. AKA Eggs Benedict
Lovely.

It took a fair amount of effort. Checked when the September reservations opened. Spent most of that morning dialling and getting the engaged signal. Got through around 2 hours later, and they had one table for 2 left in the whole of September, which was a Tuesday lunchtime.
I took the approach that I'd take absolutely anything that was available. No chance to be picky. Just asked "Do you have any tables free in September?"

Because I haven't. Google however is my friend and I now see it is a restaurant in Denmark.

Not any old restaurant in Denmark (and there are some very good restaurants in Denmark).
Incidentally, I've been eating at some exceptional restaurants recently.

A waiting list - there is something about waiting lists which make me want to burn a restaurant down. NOWHERE is ever that good.
I have been having good food lately and no month long reservation queues either. Actually in Singapore at the moment and KuDeTa at the SkyPark is incredible.
Yum. I actually enjoyed the tuna steak. Me, I actually ate it. Until Monday night I thought I hated tuna steaks.

Never worth going somewhere you need to book? That's a bit like saying it's never worth going to a concert that's going to sell out. The music can never be *that* good.
The argument is rubbish, isn't it?

No, no, no I don't think that's what I said.
But people who book up a freakin restaurant are just people obsessed with a fad. Generally speaking.
Besides it is completely impossible with my lifestyle to be able to book anything that far in advance. Not a thing, if I book a plane ticket a month before I travel I've done well.

Well, I guess you can expect a queue if you want to eat in the #1 restaurant in the world...
"The British publication Restaurant Magazine releases a list of the best restaurants in the world annually and over recent years, the Danish restaurant Noma has steadily risen within the rankings. However, earlier this week, Noma was officially nominated as the ‘Best Restaurant in the World’ by the magazine."

Yeah. Since El Bulli stopped taking bookings it's fairly widely regarded as pretty much the best there is. I think in some reviews it overtook El Bulli even before Adria shut the place.
I really like that high-end Scandinavian approach to cooking, and there aren't yet that many places that do it. Lots of local northern ingredients, lots of freshness, often lots of small plates; often playing with chemistry of ingredients to get interesting textures. Less of the frumpy formal French cuisine and heavy sauces (which I like, but after a while get a bit boring on the palate). And less of the Heston showyness and theatre and storytelling.

Yes but restaurants...
Maybe I am restaurant fatigued as that's where I consume the vast majority of my meals.
I tend to really try to avoid super trendy places where 'foodies' decide to rank them. I would probably enjoy it if I went, but I cannot imagine a place that I would ever think was worth a three month wait.
Or, knowing me a three month wait followed by a cancellation because I can't make it!

I'm quite restaurant fatigued. But that's why I want to go to really good restaurants rather than just more of the same mundane things.
Anyway, I've only ever made the insanely distant bookings 3 times, and that's because the places have rarity value. Otherwise I book a long way off if I'm going on a trip somewhere and know there are restaurants I want to try, even if I don't need to reserve that far out - Lake District last week, booked L'Enclume about a month earlier and in fact only 4 tables were taken that lunchtime. Which was a shame as it's one of the best 2 or 3 meals I've ever had in the UK. Off to Stockholm this weekend and made the dinner booking a few weeks ago just in case. In London I don't think I've ever booked anything more than a couple of weeks out because there's so much choice in town.

I'm restaurant fatigued too. A week in Denver with work plus 3 or 4 days of my niece visiting left me wanting some plain sh*t I'd made myself plus tons of fruit.

I've got to the stage of almost disliking going on holiday when it's not self-catering because you eat out averagely too often. I'd rather cook normal food for myself 3 days out of 4, and eat out brilliantly once.

I love getting home and living off plain roasted cod and plain steamed broccoli for a whole week. That and some fruit and I start feeling unclogged.

If you ate bacon in restaurants you'd be less miserable about it all, Van.
