Reading that made my head hurt. In my experience, perception is a personal thing. As a general rule, I perceive things totally differently to my partner, or rather, he gets it wrong.

I understand what you mean Devon. Lol's at him getting it wrong - well of course he would. He's a man It's like a way of looking at things, half full or half empty? That would be the interpretation, which is like you say personal (nature - genetic). But our choices are influenced by our past experiences and also our social surroundings, our culture (nurture - learnt). Both along with our history makes us who we are which develops the personality. Imo of course
There's no help for Yord thou, sadly he's 'gawn'

"Describing the artwork of Enrif as 'extraordinary,' was an educated (learned) perception, having qualified in the arts."
Do you need to be qualifield in the arts to find the artwork of Enrif extraordinary ? Is his art more extraordinary that a blade of grass ?
"Describing the artwork of Enrif as 'extraordinary,' was an educated (learned) perception, having qualified in the arts. My other deductions were quoted from the video and I was relaying what the scientists at Harvard and the pschcologist relating to his case were deducing. Here again it was a learned and not a personal perception.
Who's Enrif..? isn't his name Esref ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3AgO6H0H98or did I miss something

what you perceive is undoubtably false, to rely on what you perceive is madness

you only know what you perceived as perception can only be personal, your perception could be deceiving you and I would state it certainly is

Well if you even can't agree on the definition of perception Yord, then you are talking another language.
What is your definition exactly?

'What one perceives is a result of interplays between past experiences, including one’s culture, and the interpretation of the perceived. If the percept does not have support in any of these perceptual bases it is unlikely to rise above perceptual threshold'.
That's what it says in the dictionary
