In my element. I love Psychology! So many interesting fractions to lead too. Doesn't anyone else love Psychology?

This isn't News, pix.
There is a board for chat and a board for debates.
This is the News board.

Ah, now there's an interesting point .Is making a psychological profile about someone the same as judging them ?

Shouldn't this be 'psychology debate'?
Surely a 'psychological debate' is one where we choose our phrasing very carefully to push each others buttons, so to speak.

Thanx Newby, my mind isn't on the job at the mo. My mum had a stroke today and I'm somewhere else at the moment.
I studied Psychology and Social science, not pure Psychology.
Things like Blindsight and the Nature v Nuture debate, fascinate me. It's kinda funny coz it's one of the first things people think when you tell them that you have studied Psychology, they always think that you are analysing them, which is so silly because how could you, without knowing their history?
Blindsight is a fascinating subject, I'll post a link if anyone is interested.

Also the Phantom Limb pain association. These things really do exist, how come? How can you have pain in something that doesn't exist anymore. But reports are quite accurate? Ducking amazing no? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantom_limb

Ok Well, I came across this in the second year of my degree. Psycholgy lecturers are so ducking scientific, but this absolutely amazed me, and has been proved, they don't teach anything that hasn't been scientifically proved. Your vision Mistressdao of a Psychologist i'm afraid is 'old fashioned' and 'biased'.
The eyes work independently, every organ in your body works independently, the only thing that figures things out is your brain. The brain along with the beating heart are the most important organs in your body. So you could have the most perfect set of eyes, but if the area of your brain that deciphers all that information is damaged - by a stroke for example. No matter how good your eyes are, you won't be able to see. Simple yeah? No.

Recent studies have shown that, people that are brain blind dead, meaning that the areas of the brain that sort all the messages out from the eye are dead, probably from a stroke or such. Are still able to see, or predict, but very much correctly. Hmm cud be quite convincing to think something else, we can't explain is going on. A Spirit? My lecturers were cynical, anyone that studies science is cynical. No-one should 'rubbish' Psychology. If you do, it seems maybe you are just afraid of it. Anyway, going to bed now. So tired and worried. Night M.
