Ironic that on this the 14th anniversary, a huge crane falls into the Grand Mosque in Mecca smashing through the roof and killing scores of worshippers. Only if you don't really understand irony. How so?

How does airplane oil or fire of normal office equipment melt steel and bring down huge structures such as the Twin Towers like that? It's not possible, particularly in a short space of a few hours...
Those planes did not kill all those people but something else did. Wake up, folks. Those people were killed by their own countrymen.

Oh good lord, not this gibberish again. Jet fuel burns at 800° to 1500°F, not hot enough to melt steel (2750°F). However, experts agree that for the towers to collapse, their steel frames didn't need to melt, they just had to lose some of their structural strength—and that required exposure to much less heat. "I have never seen melted steel in a building fire," says retired New York deputy fire chief Vincent Dunn, author of The Collapse Of Burning Buildings: A Guide To Fireground Safety. "But I've seen a lot of twisted, warped, bent and sagging steel. What happens is that the steel tries to expand at both ends, but when it can no longer expand, it sags and the surrounding concrete cracks."www.popularmechanics.com/military/a6384/debunking-911-myths-world-trade-center/

I remember it like it was yesterday. Cannot believe it was 14 years ago. Time needs to slow down. It's the reason I'm here. A few days after it, the MSN front page had a link to a discussion about it on the old news board. I clicked on the link to have a look and the rest is history... Me too.

Can you point to other buildings that have been f**k*d into by jet liners and not fallen down?
Someone relay this to the twit since he has me on 'ignore'.

That's a stupid;y loose definition, or your trying to interpret it too loosely. Getting run over when crossing the road is unexpected; it is not ironic. Having a great big massive crane fall on the Great Mosque on 9-1, especially since the crane seems to be owned by the Bin Ladens, is just a weird coincidence.
You might call it a sort of poetic justice, I suppose, if you're a bit of a sh*t.
I just view it as a tragic accident.

Oh, I get all that, and I'm as bemused as everyone else by the tragic absurdity of it all. But that doesn't make it irony. Just a rather bizarre coincidence.

If I was inclined to be religious I might believe that it was some kind of god (Thor maybe) who sent that lightening bolt down on the crane. Vengeance is mine and all that silly stuff. I do find it ironic though that the construction firm is owned by the Ben Laden family. Health and safety might not be a priority with them.
