Well actually, many of us at time said it was massive mistake for Bush to invade Iraq, especially with no real post plan, but the right shouted all those voices down as either Anti American or pro terrorism, Based on the lie Saddam was involved in the WTC attacks, despite no evidence at all that was true. You lot bought that lie at the time remember Rick, but then you lot buy what ever your present leader tells you to think, they rely on you accepting the latest lie they tell, and you oblige them. Shaddup. The usual response, hate hearing the truth as ever.

The lack of an after-plan was a consequence of both the motivations and excuses for the war. It's all related. I don't recall there being an after-plan for WWI or WWII. The only plan was to win. They didn't worry about the after until it was over. When it was over, then they stood back and said, hmmm, we have a mess here. TBF, the lack of after-plan for WWI is a pretty compelling argument in favour of having a proper plan. And, indeed, it's why a huge amount of time and money was spent on creating and implementing one after WWII.

WWI and II were not exactly planned for in the same was the Iraq war was, iraq didn't attack the US the US just had a hard on for getting rid of Saddam, and as such they really should have had some idea what to do after, when sadly there was this idea all the US needed to do was get rid of him and the Iraqis would suddenly become liberal Democrats and all would be well. There was staggering lack of understanding of the factions and forces Saddam had been bottling up.

The usual response, hate hearing the truth as ever. Truth you've made up isn't truth. Still waiting for that link BTW.

It’s almost as if the troops signify the US in that region...

Bollocks media reportage causing problems again. Half of these kids only became soldiers for want of finding a job (yep, idiots, but that's another story), Same as the across the board bollocks reportage in Europe about the UK: everything sh*t the government does, they blame 'The English'.

Turkey and Russia have agreed what they say is a "historic" deal aimed at keeping Kurdish forces away from Syria's border with Turkey. It comes during a pause in Turkey's offensive to drive Kurdish forces out, creating a "safe zone" in the area. Under the deal, Syrian and Russian forces will immediately oversee a withdrawal of Kurdish forces. There is no word from the Kurdish fighters, whom Turkey regards as terrorists. The deal sets out plans for joint Turkish-Russian patrols along the border next week. The agreement was announced after six hours of talks on Tuesday between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian host, Vladimir Putin, in the Black Sea resort of Sochi. LINKAll US troops withdrawing from northern Syria are expected to be relocated to western Iraq, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper confirmed. ************************* When will this all end, Trump thought it was a good idea to remove troops, then relocated elsewhere( Iraq), Turkey and Russia come together, Iran is also in the mix...my guess, another 20 years.

Remember when the IRA were attacking the mainland, and we put terrorists in prison without a trial, the Americans were up in arms. Then the US were attacked by terrorists and America put terrorists in prison without a trial.
The 911 was horrific, and it took marines to kill OBL in Pakistan to get their man, the rest, the invasion of Iraq, which was planned before the 911 attack, was a job which needed to be done, after Bush snr failed, and the rest is history. Trump now in charge, and he needs to stay in power, what better way, than to remove troops to keep the public happy.

I think it's pretty much a done deal now. Interesting to hear young Turks saying that he's the better of two unappealing options. The competition didn't inspire much confidence apparently.

Aye, he's a brute, but Turks seem to like brutal masters.
