Stumps on first day - England on 506 for 4. The most runs ever scored on the first day of a Test. Of our five opening batsmen - four scored over 100!

That's astonishing. Particularly as yesterday they thought the match might be delayed as a result of runs among the England players.

Doubly asontishing as, having just seen the scoreboard, they did it in 75 overs!

Utterly brilliant Test Match.
England win by 74 runs with 15 mins left in the game.
Brave declaration by England to make sure there was a result either way on a very flat pitch. Pakistan could easily have won.

Yes. Astonishing match. I saw the Tea score and was beginning to worry.

Second Test
England beat Pakistan by 26 runs to go two up in a three match series.
We didn't miss any penalties.

We know test cricket is the best sport on earth. But this match. Holy f**k. 7 needed. 9 down. It might actually end in a tie!

Interesting start to this match. I didn't like England's declaration yesterday, but this morning's bowling has produced more than I'd expect.

The caption didn't have a good start, out for 1. Can't find it being streamed live here, have to rely on the BBC text coverage which is a bit sh*t

Close on day two.
Oz trail by 85 with 5 wickets remaining.
A good Test.

I know I'm going to sound like a whiny old fogey, but I wish we had a proper 'keeper and just let Bairstow bat.

Blimey. Cracking match now. I said this morning that I thought Oz chasing 275 was pretty much where the game would be 50:50. All 4 results on the cards now, with rain forecast for tomorrow. Overcast conditions could help the England seamers, could be no play at all, England's spinners are broken, Oz still have one of the world's top 3 batsmen to come in (Head - Smith and Labuschagne are the others). Pitch hasn't looked particularly dodgy. In the first part of this innings Australia made it look flat as a pancake and like they were going to walk away with the match. Another easy session like that and they'd be favourite. I was not expecting 3 wickets to fall late in the day.

I'm glad to see, for once, the opposition demonstrating the stupidity of the Nightwatchman Fallacy.

Bother.
Although if anyone deserved to concede the losing runs, it's Olly Robinson.

Sounds like a good game, closer than expected even if the outcome wasn't much of a surprise

If only Stokes had held on to that absolute blinder that he appeared to be taking at square leg.
Also, felt that after Root finally got his C&B that was the time to take the new ball (and bring Anderson on). It was brilliant to not take it and keep Root for that one over, but that one over should have been all it was.
