Frank Skinner was talking about Jeff Archer on his radio programme the other day. Apparently, they ended up playing cricket together and Frank found him to be disappointingly nice, intelligent and witty.

Interesting how much latitude you get from having a genuine all-rounder in the side.
Suddenly with Stokesy gone, Butler at 6 doesn't look great.
Incidentally as the BBC pointed out. Nicknames Stokes is Stokesy, Root is Rootey, Burns is Burnsey and Sibley is Sibbers.

I really wish England would have a proper wicket-keeper. But in a team without a "real" all rounder, Foakes for Buttler gives a comically long tail.

Not the best days cricket, still in the few balls after tea they did get a wicket, but Pakistan held on well and frustrated the English bowlers. If only they'd had Archer eh wkc...?

It's a decent start, but I'd really like them to kick on from here and make a big score...

Thinking a draw might not be that bad as long as they rub it in just how badly spanked the Pakistanis have been?

I think we want a win because winning the test somehow puts England ahead of Oz in the weird World Test Championship wheeze that the ICC have sort of invented.
