I am talking generally - as most people date before marriage.

When a marriage ends spectacularly quickly I wonder what the two people were doing before that. Unless it was a worldwind, get married after a week kind of wedding.

Much as I dislike saying this but, yes, I agree with your sentiments. Had Edwards not been in the public eye, I sense he would have been treated more harshly, and rightly so.

That said, the crimes of one individual shouldn't be seen as a reason to shut down the BBC. Why, by that very yardstick, the three top Parliamentary parties would have been wound up years ago - and again, perhaps rightly so.

Auntie does seem to have set herself up as some sort of national ripe crisis centre. I'm not against the motivation, but it seems an odd diversion.
