Guy Reffitt — the Texas Three Percenter who became the first Capitol rioter to go to trial — is guilty of five felonies for his role in the Jan. 6 assault, a jury ruled Tuesday.

Reffitt’s trial was a stress test for the Justice Department’s use of a post-Enron statute to charge more than 170 defendants with felony obstruction. Reffitt was one of dozens of defendants who challenged the charge in court, arguing the law only applied to obstructing judicial proceedings – and not the joint session of Congress. Prosecutors eventually won that battle, with ten judges on the D.C. District Court upholding the obstruction charge. On Monday, the lone exception, U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, sided with a defendant based on the specific factors in a case.

Guy Reffitt was not simply an aggrieved supporter of former President Donald Trump, come to D.C. to vent his spleen, prosecutors told jurors – he was a militia extremist with a specific plan in mind.

"He told anyone within ear shot he planned to storm the Capitol that afternoon," assistant U.S. attorney Risa Berkower said. "He said it over and over again.”

Thanks to a helmet-mounted camera he wore on Jan. 6, jurors heard Reffitt say just that. He told other rallygoers at the Ellipse that he “came hot” and was “packing heat” and that Jan. 6 was “the last day of the war.” Jurors heard Reffitt attempting to recruit others to join him later at the Capitol.

A grand jury in Colorado has indicted Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters and her deputy on counts related to election tampering and misconduct.

The indictment of Peters and Deputy Clerk Belinda Knisley on felony and misdemeanor charges stems from an election security breach in their office last year.

In May 2021, Peters allowed an unauthorized person access to the county's voting machines. That person posted sensitive information related to the equipment online.

The 10 counts against Peters include: attempting to influence a public service, criminal impersonation, conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, identity theft, official misconduct, violation of duty and failing to comply with the secretary of state.

Peters, a Republican, is running for secretary of state in Colorado, a position that would involve supervising the state's elections.

A video of a Donald Trump supporter at the former president's rally has gone viral after she said the Space Force has information proving the 2020 election was stolen.

Trump held a rally in Washington Township, Michigan, on Saturday and one supporter said the Space Force was going to help him overturn the 2020 election.

The video of the interview, conducted by Right Side Broadcasting Network which regularly covers Trump rallies, has been viewed over 1.8 million times on Twitter. It can be viewed here.

"The election, I believe, was stolen but we know that. Space Force has it all, Trump has all the information, it is going to be overturned," the woman said.

The Space Force was introduced on December 20, 2019, when the National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law while Trump was president.

In 2018, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) said he was pleased the idea of a space force was gaining traction and added he had been working with Rep. Jim Cooper (D-TN) to see it become a new branch of the armed forces to strengthen America's national security.

"Russia and China are surpassing us in space capabilities and we need to dedicate a separate force solely with a space mission," Rogers said on his website.

"The future of war will be fought in space, and we must stay diligent and ahead of other countries for our own national security."

The woman at the Trump rally was then asked what information she believed the Space Force had regarding the election.

"Space Force is a military branch...just like the army, all the military.

"The night of the election they literally watched the election be stolen.

"They know they watermarked the ballots, they know exactly what happened with every ballot, they know what fake ballots.

"They knew the election switches, they know what countries were involved, they followed the money, they know every politician that has been paid off.

"There was 269,000 sealed indictments but I think it might now be up to 500,000."

The Trump supporter then explained how she thought this information would be broadcast to the public.

"I believe that we are going to have an emergency broadcast, the military is going to come in with martial law.

"We are going to be shown eight hours on, eight hours off of videos, for seven days, they are going to be showing us taped tribunals, taped confessions.

"The world is going to be awakened to what is really going on with the deep state."

In the clip the woman did not provide evidence on why she believed her comments to be true or indicate where she had learned this information.

Newsweek has contacted the United States Space Force for comment.

Trump and his allies have long claimed that President Joe Biden won the last election due to the "widespread fraud" or "hacking" of election machines. Despite many supporters holding this view, no substantial evidence has emerged to corroborate these claims.

Speaking at the Michigan rally on Saturday, Trump ally and supporter Mike Lindell, the MyPillow CEO, said he had spent $35 million to prove this.

A quick search suggests that Dominion's annual revenue is usually something around $25m. So this one win is basically the same as 30 years in business for them.

It's clearly massively out of proportion to actual damage caused.

Which suggests that Fox was utterly f**k**g terrified of having to have its anchors and executives and owners testify in court.

Meanwhile, Dominion's going to make extra cash from the other lawsuits against lying rightwing newsorgs. And Fox is still in trouble because it still has the possible lawsuit against Smartmatic coming.

The founder of US bedding company My Pillow has been ordered to pay $5m (£4m) to an expert who proved his 2020 presidential election data was wrong.

Election denier Mike Lindell was so sure he had data showing Chinese interference in the 2020 vote that he threw down the gauntlet to others.

In 2021 he launched "Prove Mike Wrong" with $5m as a winning prize.

On Wednesday, a private arbitration panel ruled that a software expert did exactly that and was due the money.

I'm not on the extreme left nor am I shrieking mids.
But Fox News just lied and lied about an innocent company that was just doing it's job honestly and professionally.

Well its already having an effect as Red States and Red Districts have cancelled contracts or are now saying they'd never use Dominion in their elections. I suspect thats the reason behind the shear size of the award.

Dominion also has suits pending against OAN NewsMax and other right wing propaganda outlets. Having won the big one, they look set to win these now, and as Fox caved this time, Smartmatick must be rubbing their hands.
