There's a difference though between shooting someone with a gun or discriminating due to race vs. showing someone a drawing of a person though.
And it's not like it's subtle enough to throw them all into the same basket.

I don’t think there is a difference. At least not to the broader point you made which is that one’s status as a born vs. Naturalised citizen determines whether it is acceptable for you object to the cultural mores of the country in which you are living.

No difference between getting shot and possibly dying and having to endure looking at the drawing of a person.
Alrighty then.

I have no problem them whining about a few drawings, the issue is the caving in by the school who should have said something along the lines of 'I get you are upset, dry your eyes buttercup its a drawing ffs now f**k right off' rather than suspend the teacher and issue craven apologies'.

Well yeah. They can b!tch and moan if they want but should rightfully be ignored.
I mean for christ's sake, the things religious fanatics go berserk over. Wish they'd be that bothered about decapitations in the name of the prophet.

at the root of all these things are we live in a time when so many feel its their right never feel insulted, never be challenged and never to feel upset about things.

No difference between getting shot and possibly dying and having to endure looking at the drawing of a person. Alrighty then. Sigh. Cool strawman but try reading what I wrote again. I was not drawing a comparison between being shot and looking at a drawing (how did getting shot get brought into this?) The comparison was whether you citizenship status should define what cultural mores you get to push back against. But you knew that. I have no idea why you have assumed those protesting the drawing are foreigners given nowhere is that noted in the story. But if they were - so what? Would their behaviour be ok if they were born in the country? Similarly for people moving to countries with discrimination codified in law would you argue they have no right to protest if they moved from elsewhere? I used the racial discrimination point to clearly highlight the weakness in your argument. Even by your own logic their migrant status is irrelevant. It’s what they are protesting against and how they choose to do it. But going back to my earlier point this is another example of religious people wanting to impose their faith on others and I don’t think that becomes ok if you happen to be born in the country where you are trying to force your faith on others.

Cool short-term memory loss. You brought up some Aussie having an issue with gun laws in the US, that's how guns got brought into this.
My point is for those immigrating and for those bringing backwards ideas from their mother country.

My point is for those immigrating and for those bringing backwards ideas from their mother country. Ok but I did not actually mention shooting people. I assume that there are reasons to have guns that don’t involve shooting people. But you are doing it again. You are being inconsistent. Either migration status matters or it doesn’t. If it matters then it does not matter what they are protesting. I think any attempt to impose your own faith on others is problematic and I don’t think being born in the country you are doing that, makes it ok. But really this is a derailment as them being immigrants appears to be your invention.

This killer cop trial is on most every news station for some reason (obviously not Fox, they'd not want their viewers experiencing a white bloke facing consequences for killing a black bloke), not sure we need to see every little of it given there is a lot of other stuff going on.

Even I don't believe you're quite that dense. And I addressed the immigrant/non-immigrant issue in my last sentence of that post. Anything else?

This should keep us going for a while, especially as there are a number of apparent anomalies: "The Metropolitan Police is investigating allegations that a serving officer raped two of his female colleagues. The officer was not charged and has not been suspended but faces a misconduct hearing more than three years after the allegations were reported. The women were awarded compensation but one of them says "we were just cast aside and not cared for"." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56581835Sounds like a terrible experience for the women either way, but the way that the story is couched is very biased and lacks objectivity. It's like we're being briefed by the village gossip.

But it's news, innit? Designed to do anything other than dish out the facts. Most of the shit we're fed is just that.

Something is very wrong with that. Either the women shouldn’t get compo or the bloke should have been suspended. But the combination of the two is f**k*d up.

Also, is this domestic abuse or sexual assault in the workplace? It's horrible either way, but I think they need to pick a narrative.

No, it's clearly a domestic abuse case, but one involving Met officers.

True, but you expect better of Aunty. Inevitable slide into shitness, happens every time you put a Tory in charge of anything. Actually it probably started when they had to move to the provinces because they couldn’t afford to be in London.
