I think it's fair to suggest that 1st Jan 1973 could be a good dividing line in British music. And, as it happens, British film in the late 70s was also utter crap. So you could argue that going into the EEC wasn't great, and resulted in bands like Yes and The Clash and Five Star and Ocean Colour Scene, instead of Mick Taylor era Stones or The Beatles or pre-bloat Led Zep.
Except, if the EEC/EU was the problem, we'd be seeing an outpouring of brilliant pop and rock music flooding out of blighty since Brexit. And I'm not sure anyone has made a convincing case of that yet.

You're wrong about everything else so why change the habit of a lifetime. Only a weirdo would think Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main St and Goats Head Soup were "wrong" for the Stones. who thinks that?

Mids. Mids is weird and wrong. Mids says he prefers 1990s Stones to Exile on Main Street.

I don't think MT was on Let It Bleed very much at all.

OK Watch this. A favourite track of Keith's - who plays a wonderful backing track.
And then Mick Taylor plays a slide guitar solo from somewhere the other side of heaven. and notice the look Mick gives him!!!

That whole album is brilliant. It's a masterclass in how to play with rhythm and groove. Charlie certainly is "good tonight".

I posted the wrong video there. There is another one somewhere showing that track live.

I'll give it a listen as long as Yoko isn't screeching on it.

Original photo from Led Zeppelin IV album cover discovered. The figure is most likely Lot Long from Mere in Wiltshire, photographed by Ernest Farmer. Brian Edwards, from the University of the West of England (UWE), found the original picture when looking through a photograph album for other research. www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-wiltshire-67336495The best track on the album is not Stairway to Heaven, but When the Levee Breaks.

I wouldn't disagree although Black Dog is also very good. It's an odd album in terms of the production and sound though. I'm not that keen on the guitar sound.

Yeah, Black Dog is a good one. Great track to open with.
If pressed I think my favorite album of theirs is LZ II.
