If you're religious and say "it's against my faith to allow abortion" my response is always "great, well you shouldn't have one"
However if you're religious and say "it's against my religion to allow abortion so you can't have one" my response, and all rational thinkers, is always gonna be "fcuk off"

It's a very good and applicable analogy and one which you would be best suited to consider. A person who aborts is just like a slaver who kills an unwanted field hand. If you can’t see why claiming black people, actual living, sentient beings are the same as children, heck less than children, it’s because you’re racist. Also the analogy is back to front. Women want the opportunity to evict foetuses from their bodies. Slave masters weren’t fighting to evict slaves from their plantations. It was quite the opposite… |

Being forced to remain in a state of pregnancy against your will, with all the physical and mental impacts of that is “not a big deal”? Ok. |

I think Jim's wrong to conflate the issues, but it is interesting to see people trying to defend abortion (the choice foe which lies with the woman, no problem there) by suggesting that the attitude of slavers was anything other than bestial and amoral.
