I think I remember reading a large number, maybe a majority of US gun deaths are actually suicides, so having a gun to shoot bad guys is bollox, I mean the number of actual bad guys killed by they mythical good guy with a gun is very small. Bad guys killing other bad guys is far more the norm

I wonder of there's a case for escorting cargo ships into and out of Odessa in support of both the Ukrainian economy and global food supplies.
It seems like it might be a good way of standing up to the Russians. It would be completely legitimate too as Russia is not at war with Ukraine and therefore has no right to impede the trade carried out by third party nations.

I thought maybe we could encourage one or two of the hungrier countries to get involved. Maybe a joint naval operation by the African Union. The Yanks would pay for the fuel, natch. Maybe get the Saffers involved.
