How do you know anything about who she mixes with? You don’t even know what led to this? Are you really victim blaming her for falling victim to male violence?

There's a reason they don't want books being read, especially those from the perspective of marginalised groups, as seeing the world from the view of the oppressed can change your life, it creates empathy, understanding, and the thing the right fears most of all, solidarity.

There’s a related “I don’t believe it” book story coming out of Florida. It turns out that Florida passed a “stop WOKE act” last year that bans school libraries from having books that contain material that is too woke, and ban teachers from using or suggesting such books. The state of Florida is creating a list of “permitted books” and all books have to be vetted by a media specialist.

Any teacher teaching from a book that the government doesn’t actively approve of is potentially subject to a felony conviction. Other books *might* be OK, but nobody can know for sure. So, because teachers don’t want to be convicted, school libraries are actually covering the books and not allowing kids in until they can get their books checked.
