To be fair, if you'd said it was interesting that Muhammad was the UK's most popular name, I think that's an interesting factoid. Also that it's Muhammad, as I would think the various Mohamed-style variations on the theme would dilute it. But you posited it as a concern. You mentioned countries being adversely affected by immigration. You talked about the UK becoming a caliphate. All three of which, put together, suggest a less than neutral position on the matter. The interesting point about the names is that it seems that the second most popular one is Noah, so that suggests another weird religious affectation. Theo - which means god, I guess - is third. What is wrong with British parents? The other names are less surprising, but also what the f**k is it with British parents giving their kids pre-shortened names rather than the real names Charlie Jack Alfie Freddie Archie Friends of mine have sons called “Vinnie” and “Theo”. Not “Vincent” and “Theodore”. Just straight to the pre-shortened version.

Side note - I completely forgot that Jack was ever a diminutive. I think it’s been used as a full name in its own right for donkeys years now.

Nobody's actually called Jack are they, except kids of idiot Millennial parents who don't know anything.
Vinnie? Seriously? That's even worse than Alfie.

Which begs the question: why are there no muslim girls in Britain? Is Islam dying out? Is that the whitest list of names ever? Are we finally becoming a great Aryan Nation?

Also, why do British parents stop looking for names in the Alphabetical List Of Girls Names so soon? Why are there so many E and F names in particular, and so few past I in the alphabet?
They don't do it quite so much with boys. Are they such sexist pigs that they just don't bother or care when they have girls, who're so disposable that they just pick a name from the first page?

oh look - a discussion. Totally agree on the shortened names. And that is interesting about the girls names - what are Muslim girls names? Anyway it's 12:30, I've got work tomorrow - I'm going to bed. and no, I haven't been on the port.

Top birds muslim name is apparently Layla, at 31. And I've known a lot of non-muslim Laylas so I'm not sure that really counts.
Further down the muslim list apparently are Maryam, (Naturally more ample)ima, Nur, Aisha, Zahra and Raya, but I've no idea what number.s

Who the fcuk called their girl Olivia other than pretentious wankers?
We call our youngest always by the short version of his name but the full name is what he was registered as on his birth certificate

News General is a discussion forum. I saw a news item that I thought was of interest. I posted it and, as is often used in debate, posed a question - hoping to stimulate an interesting discussion. I made it clear I had no particular view on the subject. Sadly all I got was: WKC seems to be going down a Great Replacement rabbithole. what a risibly stupid question. The UK will never become a caliphate. I'm shocked you could ask such a stupid question, its much more a mids troll question than something from a serious person. You can do better. And why would England be a Capliphate? Have you been on the port? This. Exactly. This. The boy is going out sad. no discussion just anger and total misunderstanding. The Left. Bewildered, frustrated and angry at their own inadequacy.

It's probably a lot of lefty First Nations parents calling their kids Muhammed to appease Muslims.

Side note - I completely forgot that Jack was ever a diminutive. I think it’s been used as a full name in its own right for donkeys years now. It's hardly a diminutive. It's "short" for John. Like Kate is short for Bob.

Isla and Willow? Seriously? No Fatimas? I had an application from a Margot yesterday. She's 18, poor child. "Jerry ..... what are Tom and Barbara doing in their garden now?"
