Are you saying that the BBC's list of the most popular boys' and girls' names are from China and India? We are talking about a cultural trend for sex selective abortions Mids. Keep up. And you confusing British Muslims with Indian Hindus and Han Chinese.

I don't know what you're talking about. You started blathering on about China and India for some reason. I'm talking about Great Britain. No sex selective abortions of Muslims in Great Britain. Gender imbalances from ssa are primarily viewed in India and China (SoKo, Taiwan and Pakistan too. But not the UK). Are you getting confused in your dotage?

Mids is correct. The fact that no British girls have muslim names clearly means that British Muslims are killing off their female offspring, or are genetically engineering out the XX chromosomes from their embryos.
The fact that Mohammed is the most common boys name despite muslims only making up 6% of the population clearly implies that non-muslim Brits are killing off their boys.

They really do need to work on these latest chat bots, they just sound dumb and dull, it's the repetitive perseveration I suppose, like a slightly demented granny you have the same conversation with every vist.

Going back a bit in the thread, I was wondering about why parents christen their children with the diminutive form. Surely better to give your child the choice as and when they decide.
I quite like the popular name 'Archie', but think it would be quite a shock to grow up with that, then read your birth certificate and out you're Archibald!
Also, it would be amusing if they all chose to go by their full name and the mid 21st century was full of Archibalds.

Turns out the most popular dog's name isn't Mohammed. Who knew? Mind you, if you were shouting for your American Bully XL, Mohammed, in the park, I'm sure dibble would get involved. "Charles, Barbie and Taylor were among the most popular dog names of 2023, according to a new report by dog-walking company Rover. Ken, Albus Dumblepaws, and Alan are also surging in popularity while Meghan and 'H' are both on their way out. Thanks to the searching success of Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie 'Dolly' and Sasha were popular too." www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-12863525/Most-popular-dog-names-2023-revealed.html

Or maybe they hate the sound of the full form. I mean would you ever want to go by Archibald? Also I like the name “Georgie” for a girl but HATE the name Georgina with a passion.

I realise I think only two people in my circle had their children “christened” (well they had a dedication) but they are both practicing Christians.

Mids touched in something that was popular when I left the UK Nirmal names spelled in stupid ways, is that still a thing? L-ti-sha come to mind, bonkers. I am sure that’s an urban legend. But I do agree it’s stupid when parents giving their kids regular names with a weird spelling to be “unusual”. Why not just give them an unusual name in the first place then? I was friends at school with a girl called “Juanetta”. It was “Juanita” but her mom spelled it “netta” to be different. And then my friend would always throw a tantrum when it was pronounced “Wan-etta” instead of “Wan-eeta”. I always thought he should blame her mom. As for Jennifer I have no idea if he spelled it correctly. I just know the dog’s name was “Jennifer”.
