Until relatively recently, the only Arlo I'd heard of was Guthrie and I assumed it was a made up hippy name. It turns out to be an old English name. I might reconsider.

That’s interesting. On that list the only name I have come across in real life is “Aisha”.

I knew loads of “Shazia”’s but that maybe more Pakistani than Muslim.

My friend’s daughter is called “Olivia” (although everybody refers to her as “Olive”). Ironically, my friend is Muslim.

My friend’s justification for “Theo” was they’re in Oz. And Australians have a pathological hatred of calling anybody by their full name. So he would be a Theo anyway so may as well go straight for that.

I'd make a small bet that they'll call him "Thee". Or if he has a one syllable surname they'll add an "y" to it, like Jonesy or Smithy, or if it's a long name, take the first syllable and add an O - Cumberbatch to "Cumbo", etc.

Whatever it is, they won't use "Theo"
