I know a "Jenipher". Unusual spellings are idiotic and selfish on the parents part. The kid's going to have to go through life spelling their name to people or correcting them. Also, try to avoid a first name that ends with the first letter of the surname.

Why?
In Oz I met a few people with misspelled names because their parents were fairly thick and used the phonetic spelling of Irish names (I.e I worked with a Shevonne).

a long time ago my wife knew a girl called Josephine who hated her name and always called herself Jo. Consequently everyone knew her as Jo.
Unfortunately she fell in love with and married a bloke with the surname King.

Yeah that one. When he was called out on it he referred us to his name.
