The wash-up on last night's debate appears to be that Kier flopped and has been walking around with his sore little winkle in his hand all day.
The BBC have been at pains to use the word "forensic" when describing what Rishi said. He bloody aced it. As FA says, on balance, the £2K will stick, as it seems both reasonable and likely.

The 2k thing seems like bollocks. It appears plucked out of someone's arse. And, of course, also is meaningless: the Tories spent billions that weren't covered in current tax revenues and Labour can do the same - running a country's finances really isn't the same as household finances with a set income and outgoing for every week. It's a hogwash dogshit simplistic 1970s talking point from the Tories. And even if the tax burden would rise on average at 2k/year, the odds are that only 10% of the public would take 90% of the burden because, you know, progressive taxation bands and all that. It's not like it would be a 2k poll tax that everyone would pay.
It's a stupid argument and SKSKC is a f**k**g moron for not pointing out that it's a stupid argument, and a stupid way of thinking, based on an actual lie, which is just what you'd expect from this inept government. Instead Forensic Keith just let Rishi hammer it home and now 2k is stuck in peoples' heads.

Nobody down the pub or bingo hall is talking about the 2k.

Also, they know it's light, as that's £2k each, not per taxpayer.

"First Minister Vaughan Gething has insisted he is not going to resign, after losing a vote of no confidence because two Labour members were off sick."
Well, were they? Or had they conspired to sodomise him with a pineapple?
Revenge, best served cold.

He's a wrong un. A Dodger.

He's a billion percent spot on, isn't he? "It is the wets who jettisoned free-market economics, deregulation, tax cuts and supply-side reforms, who crippled the City, who increased immigration, who ignored the collapse of community and family and the baby-bust, who failed to fix the Civil Service, who refused to scrap the BBC licence fee, who had no interest in properly reforming the public sector, including the NHS (and who promoted even more cultish reverence for a failing system), who vetoed prison building and a real crackdown on crime, who embraced net zero and the neo-Blairite quangocracy, and who wanted to surrender to the woke stormtroopers." www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/06/05/tory-left-driving-party-to-annihilation-at-farage-hands/

No, he's not.
Again, what utterly insensitive f*ckt*rd would use a word like "stormtroopers", especially around this day, of all days?
One of these days (sometime, soon, whenever, never) he's going to stop moaning - but I'm not holding my breath.

I saw a good headline the other day about Farage
"In the land of the soulless technocrat, the pub bore is king"
Farage may get some support for not being quite as unutterably dull and tedious as Rish! and Keith.
But, for f**k's sakes, "Woke Stormtroopers"? Does he really think Britain needs to be more like the US fighting US style culture wars? Are British people really that desperate to emulate that side of America? My feeling is that even when Mids and Baloo do their culture war stuff it's mostly as boring repetitive joke: they don't actually dislike foreigners or women or gays all that much.

Exactly my point. The whole "Woke Stormtrooper" business is really only going to work for a tiny fraction of Britons, I think. Brits aren't as hung up and angry and reactionary as many yanks are.

I mean if the far, extreme left woke don't want to be called Woke Stormtroopers then they should stope being Woke Stormtroopers and give up this culture war that they started and are now losing badly.

Farage is such a cnut, he's spent too much time hanging around with the orange cnut at Mar A Lago and thinks trying to be the UK version of Rhonda Santos is a winner. Only fools have ever though he was a serious person
