We knew we had similar drives and expectations. We had similar views on monogamy etc. and both wanted to make the other happy but were secure enough in our relationship to say if we didn't like stuff. A few small compromises over specifics isn't really a big deal? And as luck would have it there havn't really been any anyway.

I agree, wanking doesn't tell you how much you'll like the person. You asked about sex drive though. That's mostly dictated by hormones, surely? This you can tell by how many times you choke one off per week.
